The Sound of Music Cast
JoJo Schlecht (Maria Rainer)
is a senior at Ursuline and is so excited for her 8th and final show at SST! Some favorite past roles: Eurydice in Hadestown (UA), The Baker’s Wife in Into the Woods, Ariel in The Tempest, and Johanna in Sweeney Todd. Past SST productions also include: Les Misérables, Head Over Heels, The Importance of Being Vampyre, and The Diary of Anne Frank. Her first show with SST was in 2018 as Little Cosette in Les Mis, and she is also grateful for this very full circle moment, as The Sound of Music was her first school musical ever! Thank you to friends and family and to everyone at SST who has made her time here so special! (shoutout sister dawn)
Tate Cunningham (Georg von Trapp)is a current Sophomore at Salesianum and is excited to be playing the role of Captain von Trap in The Sound of Music. Most recently he has played Otto Frank in Diary of Anne Frank. Tate has also played Mysterious Man in Into the Woods, King Alonso in The Tempest, and Little Boy in Ragtime.
Ella Persoleo (Liesl von Trapp)is a junior at Ursuline Academy and is beyond excited to be playing Liesl in The Sound of Music. Ella has been in theater since the 5th grade, but has been singing Sixteen Going On Seventeen since she was about three going on four. Some of her favorite shows she has been in are The Music Man (Marion), Sweeney Todd (Mrs. Lovett), and The Diary of Anne Frank (Student Director). Ella would like to thank her whole family, but especially her grandmother, who has been singing to her since before she could talk.
Olivia Camaratta (Friedrich von Trapp)
is a junior at Padua Academy, and is so excited to be participating in her 6th production at SST! You may have seen her in previous productions, such as as ensemble in Sweeney Todd and as Lucinda in Into The Woods. She would like to thank her family for being awesome and supportive, and her super cool and gorgeous friend Juliana Carranza, who helped her run lines and is looking for a Junior Prom date! Many thanks to the amazing cast, crew, and staff members for making this production a super fun and memorable experience!
Maura Porter (Louisa von Trapp)
Is making her stage debut with this production! She was inspired to audition by her drama teacher and vocal coach. Maura plays piano and softball and enjoys drawing and jewelry making. Like Louisa, she’s always good for a joke.
Vickie de Cos (Kurt von Trapp)
is a student at Sanford school with a love for theatre, playing piano and oboe. Her first show was "Oliver" with the Brandywiners as a part of the Ensemble. The following year she did Seussical as a who. Last year she was in "Les Misérables" at her school as a part of the kids Ensemble, and then "Assassins" with the Bradywiners as Billie.
Emma Smith (Brigitta von Trapp)
is in fourth grade at Hanby Elementary. Her happy place is being on stage! She has been a part of productions with Concord High School, Drama Kids Wilmington, Aldersgate Youth Players, and Delaware Children’s Theatre and is thrilled to be a part of this Salesianum production! Emma’s favorite roles include: Rico the Penguin in "Madagascar" and Baby Bear in "Shrek the Musical TYA". Emma is thankful for Mrs. Schlect and her kindness, the production team and cast, and her friends and family for their constant love and support! So long, farewell- see you on the stage!
Ellee Davison (Marta von Trapp)
is a fourth grader who discovered her love for musical theater just a few years ago. She is excited to be performing in her fifth production as a VonTrapp! One of her favorite roles so far has been Young Nala in "Disney’s The Lion King". When she’s not on stage, Ellee is a competitive gymnast who loves to flip and stay active. She also enjoys drawing and has a big love for animals. Ellee would like to give a special thank you to her mom, dog and family for their love and support.
Kendra Porter (Gretl von Trapp)
is making her theatre debut in "The Sound of Music". She has a flare for the dramatic which led her to audition for this show. Outside of theatre, she does gymnastics and plays piano and trumpet. She loves roller coasters and can’t wait to be tall enough to ride the big ones.
Maggie Rose Chaitt (Mother Abbess)is a Sophomore at Padua Academy. She's been involved in theatre since her very first show, "The Little Mermaid Jr." at St. Ann's school. Since then, she's been involved in various summer stock shows and shows at both Sallies and Padua. She is very happy and proud to be a part of "The Sound of Music" production! She thanks her fellow cast members, crew, parents, sister, grandparents, vocal coach, cousins, and directors/other adult leaders for their guidance, support, encouragement and knowledge. She hopes you love climbing every mountain with us!
Liam McManus (Max Detweiler)is a Salesianum Freshman who began doing theater for a historically unidentifiable reason. This will be his third show with SST and he is excited to sing on stage for the first time since entering the ninth grade. He is honored to be performing as Max Detweiler. A few of his favorite things: Star Wars, Transformers, British locomotives, apples, bananas, and pears, but not olives, singing and trench coats with long hanging strings, these are a few of his favorite things.
Madelyn Benjaminson (Elsa Schrader/Sister Margaretta)is a senior at Padua Academy and is excited to participate in her 5th production at SST. As she leaves the program, Madelyn will continue her acting training at New York University (NYU) Tisch School of the Arts. You may have seen her previously as Anne Frank (The Diary of Anne Frank), Katherine Plumber (Newsies), Lilly Jacob (Here There Are Blueberries), Cinderella (Into The Woods), and Circe (The Odyssey). She is extremely grateful to the extraordinary creative team and brilliant cast for making this show, and her time at SST, one to remember.
Nicole Boatright (Sister Sophia)
is happy to be apart of her third production at SST! She has been apart of two other SST productions, Into the Woods and The Diary of Anne Frank.

Olivia Piorkowski (Sister Berthe/Ursula)
is a senior transfer to Padua Academy. She previously attended Saint Elizabeth from 7th Grade through her Junior Year. Her favorite roles from Saint Elizabeth include Grace in "Annie" and Morticia Addams in "The Addams Family"! In addition to Theatre she also played field hockey and soccer. Olivia absolutely loves music, the Phillies, her cats, fish, dogs, and family!
Ryan Grubb (Rolf Gruber)Ryan Grubb is so extremely excited to be involved in SST’s production of The Sound of Music! He’s done three shows at SST including this one, and one show at Padua. As far as performing goes, his favorite aspect of theatre has to be the friends involved alongside him. That, and the amazing songs and set pieces that SST’s crew creates for their performers! Ryan would like to thank his family fro supporting all of his endeavors!
Jackson Adams (Franz, the Butler)is a freshman at Salesianum and is excited to perform as Franz the Butler in "The Sound Of Music". He loves theater and spending time with friends. He has performed in various productions such as Mr. Dussel (The Diary Of Anne Frank), Archivist #5 (Here There Are Blueberries), and Randolph MacAfee (Bye Bye Birdie). He gives thanks to his family and friends who have supported him throughout his theater journey. This is his third SST production, and he hopes you enjoy the show!
Madelyn Manley (Frau Schmidt)is a senior at Ursuline Academy and is so excited to be Frau Schmidt in Salesianum’s production of "The Sound of Music" this spring. She has previously been in "Head Over Heels” and "Sweeney Todd" at SST as well as previously stage managed "The Importance of Being Vampyre" and “The Diary of Anne Frank”. She wishes the best of luck to the cast and crew and wants to give a special shout out to her family, friends, and Sister Puck who have all made her time here at SST so incredible!
Gabe Tiernan (Baron Elberfeld/Ensemble)
is a current junior at Salesianum School. He is very excited for the Sound of Music!
Erin Kelly (Baroness Elberfeld/Ensemble)
is excited to be participating in SST's production of "The Sound of Music". This will be Erin's sixth SST production. Some productions that she previously participated in include "Sweeney Todd the Demon Barber of Fleet Street", "Into the Woods", and "The Tempest". She is currently a junior at Padua Academy and is getting ready for her senior year.
Parker Balter (New Postulant/VT Swing/Ensemble)
is a 14 year old girl with a deep love for theater who has been performing for most of her life. She began training at the Arden Theater in Philadelphia at just eight years old and has continued to grow as a performer ever since. Some of her favorite musicals include "Les Misérables", "Hamilton", "Wicked", and "Cabaret". Parker loves her family, sushi, and spending time with her friends, and she is thrilled and grateful to be part of the cast of "The Sound of Music".
Rosalee Ayres (New Postulant/VT Swing/Ensemble)
Rosalee is excited to be part of The Sound of Music. She has performed in past productions, where she discovered her love for being on stage and connecting with an audience. She especially enjoys singing and bringing energy and personality into her roles.
Alison Jordan (VT Swing/Ensemble)
Alison Jordan is a freshman at Padua Academy and new to Sallies Theater.So far she has been in 3 productions and favorite shows include: Dear Evan Hansen, Ride The Cyclone, and Heathers. She loves volleyball, baking, and drawing.
Michael Perkins (Herr Zeller/Ensemble)
has been in many productions for theater and he is very happy to be able to continue his journey of theater throughout high school by being part of the production “The Sound of Music” playing as Herr Zeller after playing part in the previous SST production this year, them being “The Diary of Anne Frank” and “Here there are Blueberries”. Ever since I started theater I have wanted to do it for the rest of my life. Now being lucky enough to take part in high school theater is a dream come true
