Join us on our adventure as Odysseus and his crew battle mythical monsters and face off with Greek Gods and Goddesses as our hero makes his way back home to his family after years of being stranded at sea. Odyssey: The Epic Journey Home is inspired by the age-old epic poem by Homer, retold through the medium of dance.  This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts & cultural heritage fund.

The Rochester Dance Company (RDC) started its tradition to perform the annual Nutcracker in 2000 at Mayo Civic Center.  It was incorporated as a non-profit organization in the state of Minnesota in March of 2006. Wendy Jahraus, first Chair of the Board of Directors and Ellen Huston, first Artistic Director, founded RDC to expand the opportunities for dance students to perform in professional-quality productions. RDC would also provide a serious training program for students with a passion for dance, and the opportunity to work with and learn from professional guest artists and choreographers.
