Donate to Good Grief to Help Grieving Children in NJ

Help youth in NJ who struggle with grief – as Eleanor does in Heartwood. Please donate to Good Grief, an organization with centers in Morristown and Princeton, NJ that provides a healthy environment for children to understand and process their emotions by teaching resiliency and effective coping skills. Good Grief also works with families and schools to strengthen grief resources community wide. 

According to their website, their vision is to "provide free, unlimited, and accessible support and advocacy to children and teens throughout New Jersey, while making New Jersey the first state to fully support and advocate for all of its children and families who are grieving.”

On weeknights at both of their centers, Good Grief hosts Nights of Support, which allow grieving children, teens, and parents opportunities for peer support and community building. The NOS and satellite programs (which organize meetings locally) provide various spaces for members to express their grief and connect with others. The organization also hosts events outside of these meetings, such as a 5k Run and Walk, a Good Grief Gala, and Children's Grief Awareness Day to help further foster development and growth. Additionally, they host a 4-day Grief Expressions Summer Camp for children in 1st through 8th grade who have experienced the loss of a loved one, as well as narrative therapy through StoryCorps, an opportunity for individuals to share and record stories of the deceased.
