LITERALLY----“FASTEN YOUR SEATBELTS” for the Rio Rancho Players Community Theater production of
Scott Mullen’s highly entertaining play, “AIRPORT ENCOUNTERS”, directed once again by the Players’
Founder / Director / Producer, Mel Sussman. A hilarious romp, and sometimes touching peek at an
“Anytown Airport” gate waiting area, as passengers interact before boarding their flights.
From a stowaway live lizard accidentally escaping a take-out food container, to a roving human “therapy
dog” unleashed to calm the boarding passengers, to a heart-wrenching family crossroads life decision, to
dealing with unwanted excess baggage---that we ALL must inevitably unload in life---and many more
stories---“Airport Encounters” has something for everyone in these concise, laughter-filled, thought-
provoking vignettes.

Now in our second season, (undaunted, in spite of the pandemic!), Airport Encounters is the Players 4th production.   
We will continue to bring LIVE THEATER and delight Rio Rancho audiences, this time in a new DESSERT
THEATER format!  Patrons will “lower their tray tables” and enjoy a scrumptious dessert plate and
beverages, while comfortably seated to meet old and new friends, aboard for take-off! Then all will
enjoy this delightful two-act presentation that will leave everyone, once again, wanting more from the
Rio Rancho Players!

In addition, our Theater Opening Night on Friday, April 14th, prior to the show, will be a Red Carpet Gala
affair to “Meet and Greet the Stars”, along with the Director, Mel Sussman, and our own Rio Rancho
Mayor Gregg Hull! The special reserved ticket price for this particular night will include additional pre-
show gourmet refreshments, along with the delectable dessert offerings. And if it rains---Use your seat
cushions for flotation, and come on out anyway!! Spectacular Players’ fundraising raffle items will also
be on display throughout all the performances.
