Karen Ouse (Usherette, Phantom)After a several years hiatus, Karen is returning to the stage for her first ever production with Renegade Theater Company. Karen spent the first part of her performance career living in San Francisco where she studied ballet and performed with Dancers’ Stage Company. Karen went on to study various styles of modern dance, belly dance, and ballroom, which she performed with California Contemporary Dancers, Horacio Cifuentes, and Dance Through Time. A highlight of her career was being selected to perform the world premiere of Les Noces, by choreographer Ralph Lemon, at the Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival. Karen’s interests expanded to include singing and acting which she studied at A.C.T’s Summer Training Congress, and later landed her a role in San Francisco City College’s production of Chorus Line. Karen’s disciplined dance training lent itself to her work as an art model, which she did while a student in the Arts for Social Change program at New College of California. Karen eventually shifted her focus to the study of psychology, and she now is a licensed psychotherapist with a private practice. Karen is thrilled to perform as Usherette in The Rocky Horror Show!
