Eurydice is an "interesting" play with memorable characters and thought evoking moments. This show follows the Greek Myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, but from the point of view of Eurydice as she navigates the Underworld and relearns the art of remembering. The playwright, Sarah Ruhl, wrote Eurydice as a way to remember and honor her father who passed away in 1994. Unlike the original myth, this play centers on the relationship between Eurydice and her Father. The conversations between Eurydice and her father in the Underworld are conversations Sarah Ruhl wishes she could have had with her own dad. This play hopes to evoke the bittersweet feeling of love and loss. Follow Eurydice as she rediscovers herself and her memories.
