About MEAN GIRLS
Welcome to Mean Girls! Consider this your invitation from Regina George herself to attend the fiercely hilarious musical from book writer Tina Fey (30 Rock), lyricist Nell Benjamin (Legally Blonde) and composer Jeff Richmond (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt).
Based on the 2004 film and heavily influenced by the book “Queen Bees & Wannabes", the musical has an important message that still resonates with us today: judging others won’t make you better than them. The show explores high school insecurities (about navigating life, relationships, and growing up) and how to approach them with self-love and positivity.
Will naïve newbie Cady Heron rise to the top of the popularity pecking order? Will Janis and Damian create the perfect “Revenge Party”? Will Regina get the last laugh and continue her reign? Come see Mean Girls and find out!
Mean Girls was nominated for a staggering 12 Tony Awards. This show took Broadway by storm and now is coming to Ramsey.
Ramsey High School Drama Club
At Ramsey High School, our Theatre program (Thespian Troupe #5838) produces three productions per year: Fall Play, Spring Musical, and Spring Broadway Cabaret. During the school day, we offer multiple Theatre-based classes including SPEECH & DRAMA, INTRO TO ACTING, ACTING, and DRAMA WORKSHOP. Past stage productions include award-winning productions of Into the Woods and The Candidate plus popular award-nominated productions of Peter & the Starcatcher, Legally Blonde, Clue, and Almost, Maine. Our Spring Cabarets have become important community events by creating a connection with Broadway artists (Gavin Creel, Kate Baldwin, Catherine Brunell, and Gavin Lee). We believe that each student, regardless of their background, has a unique story to tell and a distinctive voice that adds depth to our collective narrative. Our Theatre program is dedicated to creating an inclusive and supportive environment where students from all walks of life can explore, create, and perform together. Together, we strive to cultivate a Theatre environment where every student feels seen, heard, and valued.
