Southern Rapture Cast

Laura is super excited to be doing her third show with PTD Productions! You may have seen her in The Hat Box and Moon Over Buffalo. Laura recently performed for Theatre Nova and was in a hilarious musical parody for Neighborhood Theatre Group. She has also appeared on stage in many shows for A Wilde Theatre, The Dio, and The Pinckney Players. When Laura is not on stage, she is a Zumba instructor and a dog walker. She would like to thank you for supporting live theater and hopes you enjoy the show.

Bryan is pleased to be appearing in his third for production for PTD after The Hat Box and Loving Lives. Bryan has been involved in acting for over 50 years, which sounds bad when one says that out loud. He says he has been fortunate to work with this amazing cast and crew. Thank you to Karrie and Jerry for directing and producing this show. He dedicates this performance to his creative and awesome son Matthew.

Ken has been acting since sixth grade, both on stage and screen. He's done community and professional theater, improv and sketch comedy, film, TV, and radio. Ken joined PTD in the very early days of its existence, and, after a long hiatus, he's delighted to be back with them again. When not acting, Ken drives the bookmobile for the Ypsilanti Library and writes spooky fiction on the side. He was a finalist for the Shirley Jackson award.

Shelly is so grateful to be in her first PTD production with this super friendly and hardworking cast! You can catch her in MicDrop-the Improvised Singing Competition Show monthly at hear.say theater in Ann Arbor, presenting her original one woman sketch show Oh Hold at Planet Ant this November (woohoo!) or hosting the annual 50 First Jokes and Ebird and Friends Holiday Show at the Ark. Thanks so much to Karrie for stacking the cast with library folks and for trusting me with Alissa. Let's manifest me being able to give $40,000 to every theater I know.

Jacob is overjoyed to be back on the stage after many years away from theatre. This is his first production since high school! Being a part of this creative process has been extremely meaningful to him and he'd like to thank his family, friends, beloved Matthew, and anyone who said he could, so he should. And thank you to the cast and crew of Southern Rapture, for all the laughter, creativity, and connection.

Cindy is thrilled to be back with PTD after a 2 year hiatus (the last time was in Loving Lives playing Blanche). In between then and now, Cindy was in productions with other local groups. Other roles and shows include: Jo in Nana Does Vegas and Lady Clapham in Something Rotten with Spotlight Players, Annas in Jesus Christ Superstar with Evalino Productions, and most recently, Rufus in Murder's in The Heir with Van Buren Community Players. As always, Cindy sends a big thank you to family and friends for their support!

his is Adam's 13th show with PTD. He’s happy to be back on stage with some old friends and some new ones and is having a lot of fun playing multiple parts in this wonderful show. When not onstage, he's usually backstage somewhere else working as lead technician for Mercury Sound and Light, or as technical director for Community Ensemble Theater. A special thanks goes to Ko for putting up with his absence during rehearsals (and for his presence otherwise). He loves summertime and also loves pie!

Jacob has been acting since he was fourteen for Riverview High School and has worked with several theatres such as Southgate Community Players in Southgate, Inspire Theatre in Westland, Downriver Acting Guild in Wyandotte, and DYPAC in Trenton. He is excited for his first role with PTD and has been having so much fun working with this cast and playing this role. Jacob would love to thank his fellow castmates, his director Karrie and the PTD crew for giving him such a wonderful experience, his girlfriend Taylor who has meant so much to him during the production, and his family.

After becoming addicted to the spotlight, Abby returns to the stage after playing Perkins in The Hound of the Baskervilles for PTD in May. They liked her so much they let her out of the cage in the basement and let her play a southerner this time. Abby would like to apologize to her mother and father for swearing multiple times during the production but hopes that she can make them laugh at least once, as she has laughed constantly at every rehearsal. As a wise sage once said, “They see me rollin', They hatin'.”

Kim is thrilled to be in her first play in almost 30 years. She has been involved with PTD as a costumer, including on this show. Kim also participates in improv theatre in her spare time. Professionally, Kim is an office manager for a local literacy nonprofit, and enjoys creating art, reading, and spending time with her family.

Mark last appeared on the PTD stage as Albert Soady, Sr. in Escanaba in Love, and is thrilled to be working with Karrie and this wonderful cast. Other favorite roles include James Tyrone in Long Day’s Journey Into Night (PTD), Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof (Ann Arbor Civic), Mr. Lundie in Brigadoon (The Encore), and too many others to count.
