Do the Time Warp with Post Mortem Players as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the cult-film phenomenon with Richard O'Brien's original stage production that started it all! In this cult classic, sweethearts Brad and Janet, stuck with a flat tire during a storm, discover the eerie mansion of Dr. Frank-N-Furter. As their innocence is lost, Brad and Janet meet a houseful of wild characters, including a rocking biker and a creepy butler. Through elaborate dances and rock songs, that "Sweet Tranvestite" Frank-N-Furter unveils his latest creation: a muscular man named “Rocky.”

Will there be audience participation?

YES! Just like the midnight movie screenings, our Rocky Horror stage production fully embraces the wild and wonderful tradition of audience participation. That said, a live theatre setting brings its own unique thrills (and a few practical limits)—for instance, no water guns near the lighting equipment or flying objects at our actors’ heads! So, to help you make the most of your Transylvanian experience, here’s a quick guide to get you ready for the show!

Audience Participation Guide

• Call-backs are welcome! Join in on the fun—but keep it good-natured and in rhythm with the show.
• Costumes are encouraged—show off your inner Transylvanian with pride!
• Prop bags will be available for purchase at the theatre (no outside props permitted).
• Look, but don’t touch-a-touch! Please keep wandering hands away from the cast.
• Throw props away from the stage—our actors like surprises, but not ones flying at their faces!
• Sing in your hearts, not over the cast. We know it’s hard to resist, but let our amazing performers handle the melodies.

Founded in 2022 by horror fan, Charlotte native, and long-time performing arts professional, Chris Stonnell, Post Mortem Players is a theatre company that specializes in stage works of horror, the macabre, and things that go bump in the night.

Representing the Charlotte, North Carolina region, productions take place at the Old Courthouse Theatre in Concord.

Each season consists of three hair-raising productions: our annual "Christmas Spirits" ghost story in December, and two other classic or contemporary horror plays and musicals, one in October for Halloween and the other in late spring/early summer.
