On the eve of Claudia Holcomb's sixtieth birthday, her estranged daughter returns home, bringing with her sinister memories from the past. As the Holcomb family unearths these haunting truths, and new revelations threaten to tear apart an already fractured family, Claudia's mortality is thrown into sharp relief and she must begin to question her faith in the mysterious forces of the universe.

The High Priestess was initially streamed in June of 2021. This heightened family drama was filmed and broadcast live on location in Ledyard, CT at the acclaimed Dragon's Egg Studio. Critics described the show as “using the best of both mediums [to create] a truly dynamic night of theater.”

Permafrost Theatre Collective is a multidisciplinary collaboration of artists dedicated to creating bold new work and reimagining classics. Our storytelling is rooted in the ensemble and puts communication and empathy above all else. Artists come together in The Collective under the common belief that the shared experience of our art should be transformative and cathartic for both artist and audience. The Collective acts as a resource and platform for artists of diverse backgrounds to create in whatever medium effectively presents itself. First, last, and foremost; the work created here is to act as an axe for the frozen sea inside us, to break through the Permafrost of the human condition.
