The American History of Philip AM: The Naming to the Claiming written and performed by Philip AM Creative

Writer/Performer
Philip-AMPhilip-AM is a boundary crosser. A constant pedestrian, crossing from the midnight sidewalks of the subconscious, onto the mean streets of the working man's daylight. Fusing philosophical musings and literary allusions with a love of language, music and relationships, his work is a new millennium primer for those of us who care enough to seek more than simple mammalian survival. The cosmogony of language in resistance to the war against the imagination. Philip-AM began his training in the oratory arts, somewhat against his will at the age of seven as an acolyte of Christian ministry. Studied the oral tradition from Homer to Gil Scott Heron. Spoken word styling from Lord Buckley to Ken Nordine. Song lyrics from Joe Hill to Woody Guthrie. Interactions with instrumentation in the style of Kerouac and Parker, David Amram to the resurgence of the griot that is Hip Hop.
He participated in Slam Poetry, poetry and spoken word with music workshops in schools and universities. In 2006, Philip-AM founded The Zygotic Art Collective, a rotating ensemble of percussionists, singers, poets, musicians, canines, visualizing and vitalizing the arts of the inter-species expression of living creation.
Philip-AM now lives with his wife and a vocal Siberian Husky on a boat on the east coast of North America. He may be reached and/or observed online at Philip-AM.com and walkupandsayhellodotdisorg
