About Max is Back! A Weekend of San Juan Chamber Music Friday Night

Max Levinson returns to Ouray August 2021 for the Max is Back! A Weekend of San Juan Chamber Music. The Friday evening concert will feature Max in a solo piano concert for the evening. Max is an active chamber musician, and is known as an intelligent and sensitive artist with fearless technique. The Washington Post writes, "You can hear gasps in the audience - Max Levinson displays technical wizardry. His playing has solid, assured technique, clarity of vision and a sense of the permanent values in music that underlie surface variations".

Max is Chair of the Piano Department at the Boston Conservatory, and is also a faculty member at the New England Conservatory.

Max has served as the Artistic Director for OCPAG's San Juan Chamber MusicFest for the past seventeen years. Although this signature event was paused last year, and it's modified for 2021, it was important for OCPAG to move forward presenting chamber music in Ouray County with the Max is Back! A Weekend of San Juan Chamber Music!
