About Oliver Jr.

Oliver Jr.

The streets of Victorian England come to life as Oliver, a malnourished orphan in a workhouse, becomes the neglected apprentice of an undertaker. Oliver escapes to London and finds acceptance amongst a group of petty thieves and pickpockets led by the elderly Fagin. When Oliver is captured for a theft that he did not commit, the benevolent victim, Mr. Brownlow takes him in. Fearing the safety of his hideout, Fagin employs the sinister Bill Sikes and the sympathetic Nancy to kidnap him back, threatening Oliver’s chances of discovering the true love of a family.

Oregon City Children's Theatre

Our History

OCCT was first established in 2005 at Beavercreek Elementary School with a production of Alice In Wonderland. In 2006 participation was opened up to the entire school district at the faculties request. We performed at the Jackson Campus from 2006-2015 until the rent prices exceeded our budget.

It was in 2015 OCCT became a stand alone organization and non-profit organization prior to leaving Jackson and the school district. Shortly after OCCT was “adopted” by the Beavercreek Grange who provided us with a new spot to call home. From 2016-2022 we were able to rehearse and mount 10 more full-stage productions and several camps. Fortunately and unfortunately, all of the renovations we've done to the grange have increased their rental requests limiting our access and use of the space.

OCCT is once again looking to find our new home. We are in the works of purchasing our own building and opening a Fine Arts Charter school Fall of 2023. And in the meanwhile we're happy to be working with OCCE who is providing us with a space to perform nominally and allowing us to expand our reach and opportunities to the youth of Clackamas and surrounding communities.

Sincerely,

OCCT Staff
