Perennial Movement Group, a dance ensemble of adults over age 65 based in Columbus, OH, will perform a program of original works at the Shirley Wimmer Dance Theater on Friday, January 23 and Saturday, January 24. The show includes works by Ohio-based choreographers in collaboration with the ensemble: The Body Remembrance (2021) by PMG Directors Chloe Napoletano and Sarah Ramey; Two Not One (2024) by ensemble member Gladys Lawrence; Survivor Songs (2025) by John Giffin, an original member of Pina Bausch Tanztheater Wuppertal and Professor Emeritus at OSU Dance; and Laugh (2025) by independent choreographer Elizabeth Sugawara. The performance also includes an intergenerational work created by Sarah Ramey, who recently joined the faculty of the School of Dance. This new dance features eleven School of Dance students and five Athens community members exploring themes of belonging and place through movement and text.
