About Dear Edwina Jr.

The show is based on the book of the same name by Marcy Heisler, with music written by Zina Goldrich. It follows thirteen-year-old Edwina Spoonapple, who runs a weekly “Advice-a-Palooza” show featuring her friends. Audiences are taken through a musical whirlwind of advice on growing up. Whether it’s making new friends or trying new foods, Edwina and her pals have something to say about it. Megan Duncan ‘26 will play the titular character of Edwina.

Theatre director Dr. Kristin O’Malley earned a Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh in Theatre Arts and Performance Studies. In addition, she has a Master of Arts in Theatre Education from Catholic University and a Bachelor of Arts in Drama fromFranciscan University of Steubenville. Dr. O’Malley has directed over twenty shows. This past summer she led Oakcrest’s summer Musical Theatre camps, which gave students the opportunity to work on acting, singing, set design, and costumes, culminating in a performance.
