Something Rotten! Cast

Nick Bottom (Dan Joseph)
Dan (Nick Bottom), was put on stage at age 4 and told to dance and sing – so he did. Favorite roles include Oliver (Oliver), Lead Player (Pippin), Conrad (Bye Bye Birdie) a bottle dancer (Fiddler on the Roof), and a tap dancer (Dames at Sea, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Anything Goes, When Pigs Fly...). Favorite part about musical theater happens when the whole cast is totally in a high energy sync during a performance. Dan is the coffee roaster at FoJo Beans in Hamilton, NY which he owns with his partner Dan Foust. Dan cannot get Shake 'n Bake to stick no matter how hard he tries!
Nigel Bottom (Braderick Morrison)
Brad has been involved with NTCI less than a year but he has been involved with theater in general for the last twenty years. Some favorite roles include Barnaby Tucker in "Hello Dolly!, Marvin Shellhammer in "Miracle on 34th Street" and Scarecrow in "The Wizard of Oz". Brad 's favorite thing about doing theater is the feel of the lights on his face on opening night. Brad enjoys DIY projects, cooking, and home decorating. He works at the Arc of Otego Brad's family includes his partner Jason who he would like to thank for supporting him and believing in his abilities. The other family member is Bernard his cat. Brad is originally from Indiana.
William Shakespeare (Charles Ackerman)
Charles has been involved in theater for 7 years, and Something Rotten! marks his 2nd appearance with NTCI. Some of his favorite roles include Curly in Oklahoma!, Wadsworth in Clue, the Lion in the Wizard of Oz, and the Beast in Beauty and the Beast. Charlie says that he loves to be able to entertain people, and looks forward to bringing Shakespeare to life like you have never seen before. His dream role is Sweeney Todd.
Nostradamus (Scott Douglas)
Brother Jeremiah (John Jackson)
John has been involved in theater for 30 years. A couple of his favorite roles were Curly in "Oklahoma" and Fagan in "Oliver". John has been in the NTCI productions of "Godspell" and "Annie Get Your Gun". John enjoys the bonding and teamwork that takes place in doing theater. He also likes taking on a new personality. John is a science teacher at Unadilla Valley C.S. He is a basketball coach, and he enjoys being in a golf league and singing. He enjoys watching his children Andrew and Kaitlyn in their adventures. He writes and performs science parodies for his students.
Portia (Elspeth Hunter)
Elspeth Hunter, a rising junior at Norwich High School, will be playing Portia in Something Rotten! She’s been performing since age five, and some of her favorite roles were Fiona in Shrek, Scar in Lion King, Genie in Aladdin, and Veruca in Willy Wonka, among many others. She’s done a variety of shows with NTCI, including Drowsy Chaperone, Gypsy, South Pacific, etc. When she’s not singing or acting, you can find her playing her saxophone, cello, or piano or sketching. She hopes to pursue a career in theater.
Robin (Zac Calderon)
This is Zac's first time participating in a show. He thought it would be fun to try. He enjoys listening to music and going to shows when he is not working.
Ensemble (Gillian Safavizadeh)
Gillian has been involved in theater for six years. Some of her favorite roles include Ursula in "The Little Mermaid", Sara in "The theory of Relativity", and Iago in "Aladdin Jr. ". Her NTCI shows include "Singin in the Rain", "The Music Man", "Gypsy", "Santa's Workshop" and "Got Talent". Gillian loves entertaining people and getting to perform on stage. Gillian has danced at Donna Frech for twelve years. She also plays piano, sax, uke, and viola.
Ensemble (Robert Green)
Rob has never participated in a show with NTCI, but he has assisted with stage crew in high school drama club until graduation. Outside of the theater he enjoys building as well as fishing and hunting.
Ensemble (Miranda Hunter)
Miranda Hunter will be in the ensemble in Something Rotten! She’s been involved in theater since she was a kid, long enough to count her time in decades rather than years. She’s been in a variety of NTCI shows in the six years she’s lived in Norwich, with some favorite roles including Tessie Turra in “Gypsy” and Mary in “It’s a Wonderful Life.” When she’s offstage, Miranda teaches a program for high school seniors who aspire to careers in law and government. In her “spare” time, which is remarkably limited with work, theater pursuits, and driving her two overcommitted teenagers to and from their various activities, she enjoys sewing and reading.
Ensemble (Kerrie Monte)
Kerrie has been involved with theater for two years but this is her first show with NCTI. Her favorite roles in high school were Caroline in "Theory of Relativity" and Hannah in "Newsies". she loves getting to share a story in theater. She loves photography and art. She is very friendly.
Shylock (Debi Pierce)
Debi has been with NTCI for 11 years and she is currently a board member. Most recently, Debi has played the role of Louise in "Always Patsy Cline" This has been her favorite role to date. She has also played Trina in "Dashing through the Snow" and Maria in "Lend Me a Tenor" and Drowsy in "The Drowsy Chaperone". Debi states that her favorite part of theater is hearing the laughter coming from the audience. Outside of the theater, you can find Debi working outside in the garden or spending time with her children.
Ensemble (Elizabeth Pierce)
Lizzie is a member of the ensemble in "Something Rotten". She has never performed with NTCI so this will be a new experience. Lizzie's most recent acting experience includes playing the sexton in "Much Ado About Nothing", Mara in "The Pajama Game", as well as many roles in the "One Act" plays with the Sherburne-Earlville Club in high school. If Lizzie were to name one favorite thing about theater life it would be the stories that come from the long nights of rehearsals together, whether it is a happy or sad story, they are always very unique. During her time outside the theater, Lizzie can be found with her nose in a book, whether it be a nursing text book or a novel. Lizzie aspires to be a nurse practitioner.

Emma has been involved in theater for eight years. Some of her favorite roles include Gertie in "Oklahoma", Betty Blast in "Footloose" and Manal in "Aladdin Jr. ".Her involvement in NTCI shows include "All Shook Up", " Christmas Carol". "Gypsy", "Music Man", "Oklahoma", as well as many more. Emma's favorite thing about doing theater is being on stage because she grew up on stage. Emma has been dancing for thirteen years. She also enjoys tennis and choir. Emma has a hamster named Chunksters.
Lady Clapham (Jessica Richardson)
Jess has been involved in theater since she was a freshman in high school. Some of her favorite roles include Electra in "Gypsy", and Grandma Josephine in "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", Her NTCI shows include "Annie Get Your Gun", "All Shook Up", "Christmas Carol", "White Christmas", "Music Man", "Gypsy", and many more. Jess's favorite thing about doing theater is getting to play so many different amazing characters. Jess enjoys writing poetry, reading books and the theater. Jess loves to laugh and to have fun!
Ensemble (DJ Smith)
DJ has been involved in the theater for nine years. Some of her favorite roles include Wednesday from "Addams Family", Gertrude from "Suessicall", and being part of the ensemble for "Mary Poppins". Dj has been part of the two years of Toast to Broadway with the NTCI. DJ's favorite thing about doing theater is connecting with her friends on stage and the audience. DJ is a junior at Nazareth College. She says a fun fact about her is that she talks too much!

Erin has been involved in the theater for four years. Her favorite role was Chef Louis in "Little Mermaid Jr. " . This is her first show with NTCI and she is very excited to be part of it. Erin enjoys so many things about theater: the acting, the theater family, the performance, and the excitement of the crowd. Erin enjoys musicals and cheering.
Minstrel (Will Drew)
William Drew (MINSTREL) is making his on stage debut with Norwich Theater Company. He has previously been on stage in various roles with other theatre companies in the Southern Tier. Some of his favorite roles he has played are AGATHA TRUNCHBULL in Matilda: The Musical, GASTON in Beauty and the Beast, and JIM ANDERSON in Father Knows Best. William is the co-founder of Facebook theatre resource group Southern Tier Theatre Connect. One of his passions and goals is to facilitate and encourage cooperation among theatre organizations in the area, and make participation in theatre more accessible and known across the area.
Bea (Kelsey Stearns)
Kelsey Stearns (Bea) is originally from Ithaca, NY and she is ecstatic to be part of her first NTCI show! she has been involved with theater since childhood, appearing in such shows as "A Chorus Line", "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown", "The Addams Family", "Matilda", and "Beauty and the Beast". Recently she has been behind scenes, directing "the Wedding Singer" and "The Marvelous Wonderettes: Dream On". Kelsey sends a huge thank you to the cast, crew and to Will for all the support.
