Newsies Jr. Cast

Raylee VonDerau (BUNSEN)
Lee is a 7th grader who has been in 21 shows before this one. She plays the part of Bunsen, and she thinks the best part of the show is “Watch what happens”. She prefers plays over musicals, and is most grateful for Ms. Gaden for all the effort she puts in. She enjoys drama club because she loves getting to be on stage.
Tennessee Shulman (DAVEY)
Tennessee Shulman plays the role of Davey. As a 6th grader, he thinks drama club is fun because of the community of nice people, and the thing he likes most is the line “50/50! You wouldn’t try to pull a fast one on a little kid would ya?” He is most grateful for his mom for always being there, and likes doing a regular play more than a musical.
Kit Downing (RACE)
Kit Downing is in the role of Race, and as a 6th grader, has still been in nine or ten other shows. She likes the song King of New York. The thing she loves about drama club is that you can be anyone. If given the choice, she prefers doing a musical over a regular play. Her biggest thanks goes to her coaches for working on Newsies to have a great show.
Willy Gaden (LES)
Willy Gaden is a 6th grader who has been in five shows before this one. He plays the part of Les, and thinks the best line of the show is, “Why did they tell her to break a leg? Don’t they like her?” He prefers doing a regular play over a musical, and his biggest challenge is staying focused. He enjoys drama club because he loves acting.
Addy Sutz (MURIEL)
Addison Sutz is in the role of Muriel, and as a 7th grader, has still been in other 15 shows. She likes Katherine’s Solo. The thing she loves about drama club is making new connections and getting to be someone else. If given the choice, she prefers doing a regular play better than doing a musical. Her biggest thanks goes to Sarah and Aida for helping with choreography.
Ezra Zepeda (ROMEO)
Ezra Zepeda is in the role of Romeo, and as 6th grader, has acted in class plays. She thinks the best part of the show is Carrying the Banner. Her biggest challenge is tap. The thing she loves about acting is that she can be different. If given the chance, she prefers doing a regular play over a musical.
Amelia Radtke (HAZEL)
Amelia “Raine” Radtke is an 8th grader who has been in 11 shows before this one. They play the part of Hazel, and tapping is their favorite part of the show. Learning the music was a challenge, but with Mr. Alex’s help it went better! They prefer doing a musical over a regular play. They enjoy drama club for the opportunity to be a different person and spend time with friends.
Keira Peters (PIGTAILS)
Keira Peters plays the role of Pigtails. As a 7th grader, she thinks acting and dancing in drama club is fun, and the thing she likes most is theater. She is most grateful for the people helping with casting and costumes, and likes musicals more than plays.
Liliana Green (SPECS)
Liliana Green is a 7th grader who has been in 8 shows before this one. She plays the part of Specs ,and she thinks the best part of the show is Ms. Medda’s theater. She prefers regular shows over doing musicals and is most grateful for Ms. Gaden. She enjoys drama club because she can play many different parts and loves playing someone new every time.
Lillian Howard (ALBERT)
Lillian Howard is a 6th grader who has been in 2 shows before this one. She plays the part of Albert, and she thinks the best part of the show is Brooklyn’s Here. She prefers doing a regular play over a musical, and is most grateful for Ms. Gaden for orchestrating our amazing show. She enjoys drama club because of being able to perform in front of a live audience.
Grayson Steinberg (JACK KELLY)
Grayson Steinberg plays the role of Jack Kelly. As a 6th grader he has been in 5 plays, he thinks drama club is fun because he gets to be different characters that have different stories and emotions, and the line he likes most is, “Extra! Extra! Terrified flight from burning inferno! You heard the story fight here!” He is most grateful for all the people who helped him get where he is today, and likes being in a musical more than a regular play.
Tycho Kelsch (CRUTCHIE)
Tycho Kelsh is in the role of Crutchie, and as a 7th grader, has still been in many other shows. He likes having the opportunity to be Crutchie in the play and thanks Ms. Gaden for that. The thing he loves about drama club is the thrill of being someone he isn’t. If given the choice, he prefers being in a musical. His biggest thanks goes to Ms. Gaden.
Sophia Zuendel (KATHERINE)
Sophia Zuendel is an 8th grader who has been in 17 shows before this one, including six musicals! She plays the part of Katherine, and thinks the best part of the show is the song King of New York. She prefers doing a regular play over a musical, and her biggest challenge in this show is singing the high note in Watch What Happens. She enjoys acting because she gets to be exaggerated and loud.
Leonardo Lujan (DARCY & ENSEMBLE)
Leonardo Lujan is in the role of Darcy, and as a 6th grader, has been in one other show. His biggest challenge is remembering the dances, and the thing he loves about drama club is the friends he makes. If given the choice, he prefers being in a musical, and his favorite part of this one is King of New York
Lizz Shea (MORRIS DELANCEY)
Lizz Shea is a 7th grader who has been in 2 plays before this one. She plays the part of Morris, and she thinks the best part of the play is when they shake hands with spit. Her biggest challenge for her is acting like a bully. She prefers doing a regular play rather than a musical, and what she likes about drama is being a different person.

Dylan Quinn plays the role of Oscar Delancey. As an 8th grader, they think drama club is fun because of the community. Their biggest challenge is getting into character and they have been in 3 shows.
Kayan Rosa (WIESEL)
Kayan Rosa is a 7th grader who has been in 1 other show before this one. He plays the part of Weisel, and he thinks the best part of the show is “Papes for the Newsies, Line up”. He prefers doing a regular play over a musical and is most grateful for tap dancing in King of New York. He enjoys drama club because he gets to act and be himself but really just loves everything in drama club.

Riley Reeves is a 7th grader who has been in 4 shows before this one. He plays the part of Pulitzer, and he thinks the best part of the show is when the price goes up in the morning. He prefers doing a regular play over a musical, and is most grateful for remembering his lines. He enjoys drama club because he gets to be theatrical.
Otto Covell (SEITZ)
Otto Covell plays the role of Seitz. As a 6th grader, he thinks drama club is fun because he gets to escape from your regular life to be someone else, and the thing he likes most is the role of Crutchie. He is most grateful for Ms. Gaden and the chance to do a musical, and likes doing a regular play more than a musical.
Mirabelle Nowicki (HANNAH)
Mirabelle Nowicki plays the role of Hannah. As a 7th grader, she thinks drama club is fun due to the fact that she loves performing on stage, and the thing she likes most in the show is Seize the Day part 2. She is most grateful to be in the show, and likes musicals more than regular shows.
Rayea Alvarez (SNYDER)
Rayea Alvarez is in the role of Warden Snyder, and as a 6th grader, has been in 2 other shows. She likes best Romeo's line before 'King of New York', and she loves that drama club brings your friends and a family. She'd choose doing a musical over a regular play. Her biggest gratitude goes to Ms. Gaden for being so nice, or tough, and caring about everything.
Tatum DeRidder (MEDDA LARKIN)
Tatum Deridder plays the role of Medda Larkin. As an 8th grader, she thinks drama club is fun, and the thing she likes “Where better to escape trouble than a theater?” most. She is most grateful for her mom and John for being her biggest supporters through everything, and likes musicals more than plays.
Lavender Lindsey (ADA)
Lavender Lindsey is a 6th grader who has been in 4 shows before this one. She plays the part of Ada, and she thinks the best part of the show is the song I’m More Than Just a Pretty Face. She prefers musicals over regular plays, and is most grateful for Miss Annie who made her dress. She loves drama club because of how the lights blind her eyes when she is on stage.
Ruby Hawkins (ETHEL)
Ruby Hawkins is in the role of Ethel, and as a 7th grader, has been in at least nine plays. She thinks the best part of the show is Katherine’s line, “Cheeky boy gets NOTHING for his troubles!” She prefers regular plays over musicals. She enjoys drama club because of the people she meets from it. Her biggest thanks go to her parents for supporting her through this.

Isaiah Page is a 7th grader who has been in 4 shows before this one. He plays the part of Pat, and he thinks the best part of the show is the song, “Carrying the Banner.” He prefers musicals over plays , and is most grateful for tap dancing. He enjoys drama club because he likes to perform.

Eliza Light plays the role of Spot Conlon. As a 7th grader she has been in 12 other shows, she thinks drama club is fun because she gets to be a different person on stage, and the thing she likes most is the song Brooklyn’s here. She is most grateful to Ms. Gaden and Mr. Reid for helping us do a musical, and she likes doing a musical more than doing a play.

Athena Monster-Isaacs is a 7th grader who has been in 4 plays before this one. She plays the part of Dorothy, and she thinks the best part of the show is when Brooklyn arrives. She is grateful for her dad helping her practice, and she prefers doing a regular play over a musical. She enjoys drama club because of how it brings people together.

Dexter Wood is in the role of Bill, and as a 6th grader, has still been in 3 other shows. He likes the line “That’s Disgusting!” The thing he loves about drama club is the final performance at the end of the process. Zander White is an 8th grader who has been in a lot of shows before this one. He plays the part of Roosevelt, and he thinks the best part of the show is the line “This is gonna make both the Delancys pee in their pantsies. He prefers musicals over plays, and is most grateful for his Mother, his Father, and his dog. He enjoys drama club because of the sets.
Elijah Lugo (POLICE CHEIF & ENSEMBLE)
Elijah Lugo is a 7th grader who has been in 3 shows before this one. He plays the part of police chief, and he thinks the best part of the show is when the police drag Crutchie off stage. He prefers a musical over doing a regular play, and is most grateful for the King of New York dance. He enjoys drama club because of the feeling you get after a show.

Eli Zepeda plays a police officer and a newsie. This is his first time on stage and he is grateful for the scenes he is in. Snacks are the thing he loves most about drama club. He likes musicals more than regular plays.

Eabha Westbrooks plays “woman” and “scab 1,” and as a 6th grader has been in two other shows. Her favorite part of the show is Once and for All, and her biggest challenge is tap. She prefers regular plays over musicals. The thing she loves about acting is that she can be a totally different person.
Elayna Crace (JOJO & ENSEMBLE)
Elayna Crace is a 7th grader who has been in 3 other plays before this one. She plays the part of Jojo, and her favorite line in the show is when they act disgusted by the Delanceys. What she loves about acting is they all get to grow together and do what they love. She prefers doing a regular play rather than a musical.
Noah Siedelman-Kriienke (POLICE OFFICER & ENSEMBLE)
Noah Seidelman-Krienke is a 6th grader who has done 1 play before this one. He plays the part of police officer/newsie, and his favorite part of the play is where he drags Crutchie off stage. His biggest struggle has been remembering his lines, which is maybe why he prefers doing musicals.
