Into the Woods, Jr. Cast

Narrator (Jacob Murphy)
Jacob Murphy is a Junior at North Miami High School. This is his first year in drama. He made his theatrical debut last fall in Clue (Colonel Mustard) and will make his debut musical performance as the Narrator in Into the Woods, Jr.
Baker (Jean Rodriguez)
Jean Rodriguez is a senior at North Miami. He will be attending college in Hollywood, California to pursue an acting career. One of his hobbies includes filming short films with his friends for YouTube. Jean has been featured in the previous productions of The Holiday Channel Christmas Movie Wonderthon (Brett the Prince), The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon (Actor) and Clue (Wadsworth). The musical production of Into the Woods Jr. (Baker) will be his last high-school production. Because of his loving support from Mrs. Wessels, Mr. Thomas, and everyone in the drama department, he has continued to love acting ever since he joined in tenth grade.
Baker's Wife (Samantha Smith)
Samantha Smith has been in drama for three years. She is currently a Junior at North Miami high school, and her performance in Into the Woods, Jr. (Baker's Wife) will be her sixth role. She has appeared in the previous productions of Clue (Scarlet), The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon (Witches), and The Holiday Channel Christmas Movie Wonderthon (Lourdes). Outside of drama, Samantha participates in Band, Choir, Color Guard, and has taken dance classes for the past twelve years. As a lover of the arts, she enjoys her time on stage.
Cinderella (Aly Black)
Aly Black is in the tenth grade and is fifteen years old. She made her theatrical debut in the Cole Porter production of The Woman Who Lived in a Shoe. She has been singing all her life but had her first solo when she was eight. Aly would like to thank friends and family for giving her the support for where she is today.
Cinderella's Mother (Sarah McBride)
Sarah McBride is the Band/Choir Director at North Miami Community Schools. She will be playing the role of Cinderella’s Mother. Mrs. McBride’s theatrical debut began with the musical Fiddler on the Roof, where she played the role of Tzietel’s Baby at the young age of six months old. In Elementary School, she was one of the orphans in the musical Annie. While in High School, Sarah continued her musical career playing a poppy In The Wizard of Oz, and a nun in The Sound of Music. While in high school, Sarah was also involved in the theatrical production of the play, Help, I’m Trapped in a High School, playing the role of the Security Guard. From her first year at North Miami in 2013 until now, Mrs. McBride has also helped in numerous productions as the Orchestra Pit Director for Guys and Dolls, Wizard of Oz, and Cinderella. Mrs. McBride has also been actively involved in working with each cast member on their vocals in many of these productions, including Into the Woods, Jr. Mrs. McBride is looking forward to once again being on the stage. She wants to thank her husband for always being supportive in her love of music and theater.
Cinderella's Stepmother (Karise Kabage)
Karise Kabage is the Assistant Principal of North MIami MIddle/High School. Into the Woods, Jr. is her first ever theatrical performance on the big stage. She has a background in choir and dance stemming from her middle/high school days. She wants to give a big thanks to Mrs. Wessels for pushing her to do something outside of her comfort zone.
Cinderella's Father (Grant Ebert)
Grant Ebert is the music substitute for NMCS this school year, and is currently teaching at the elementary school. He has had the opportunity to perform in operas such as The Invention of Morel (Narrator) and La Bohemè (Marcello). In addition, he has played in musicals such as Sister Act (Curis), Mamma Mia (Pepper), and Into the Woods (Cinderella’s Prince). He has enjoyed his time here at North Miami, and wishes to thank all the teachers, staff, and students for a great show and a great school year.
Florinda (James Ward)
James is a seventh grade student at North Miami. This is his second production. He made his theatrical debut in the fall in the production of Clue (Cop). He will appear as Florinda in Into the Woods, Jr.
Lucinda (Leah Wessels)
Leah Wessels is a sixth grade student and is making her theatrical debut as Lucinda. Leah enjoys singing and playing music, art, and being on stage. She has enjoyed getting to know everyone in the Drama club and looks forward to future productions.
Cinderella's Prince (Ben Laycock)
Ben Laycock is a freshman at North Miami. Into the Woods Jr. (CInderella's Prince) will be his fifth show. He has been featured in the productions of The Holiday Channel Christmas Movie Wonderthon (Vixen), The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon (Doctor), and Clue (Motorist). Off stage Ben is in Band, Choir, and Color Guard.
Jack (Aslan Emberton)
Aslan Emberton is in tenth grade, and this is his second year of productions. Alsan has been in The Brothers Grimm Spectactulathon (Hansel) and when he was ten was cast as Jesus in an un-named play. Had it not been cancelled due to Covid, he would have also appeared in Mary Poppins (Policeman, Bank teller, and messenger). He would like to thank his parents for picking him up from practice and supporting him the whole way. He would also like to thank his friends for making those productions as spectacular as they were.
Jack's Mother (Kat Longawa)
Kat will be making her theatrical debut in Into the Woods Jr. (Jack's Mother), and she hopes to join more shows in the future. She is a freshman at North Miami. Kat became interested in theater after her friends joined and she learned about her mother's experience in drama. Kat is also a part of the girls soccer team, high school choir and high school band.
Milky-White (Xander Phillips)
Alexander Phillips is playing Milky-White in this rendition of James Lapin's Into The Woods. He is in tenth grade and will be making his theatrical debut. He was coaxed by his friends involved with the program and decided to participate in the production. He is a two-sport athlete, playing football and golf respectively. He wishes to thank Aslan Emberton, Emily Smith, and Sophia Wolhlfarth.
Witch (Sophia Wohlfarth)
Sophia Wohlfarth is a sophomore at North Miami High School, and has been in seven theatrical productions. She has been featured in The Holiday Channel Christmas Movie Wonderthon (Bridgette), The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon (CInderella, Girl), and Clue (Mrs. White). Off stage Sophia is involved in Band, Choir, Color Guard, and Student Council.
Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel (Emily Smith)
Emily is currently in her third year of drama. She has been featured in The Brother's Grimm Spectaculathon (Dwarf 2), The Holiday Channel Christmas Movie Wonderthon (Girl 1 and piano accompaniment), and Clue (Ivette). She enjoys expressing herself through the arts. She has taken dance classes for eleven years and has been playing instruments for eight years. She is extremely grateful to be apart of North Miami's Drama Department, and can't wait to see what the future holds for it.
Wolf, Rapunzel's Prince (Griffin Dyson)
Griffin Dyson is a sophomore student at North Miami. He has been in seven theatrical productions including this musical, Into the Woods, Jr, (Wolf, Rapunzel's Prince). His favorite productions to date include “ The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon (Prince) and Clue (Professor Plum). He was supposed to appear in Mary Poppins but due to Covid 19, it was sadly canceled. Outside of Drama, Griffin participates in FFA, Choir, Student Council, and Varsity soccer.
Granny (Anna Gallian)
Hello there! Anna Gallian, will be making her theatrical debut as Granny, and she’s technically not even old enough to be in drama yet! She was asked to be in the play because no one auditioned to play her rol. Even though she was in sixth grade and knew no one in the play (besides Leah Wessels) she accepted. She would like to thank Mrs. Wessels for encouraging her to join the play and hopes to see you in the audience!
Mysterious Man (Brandon Maish)
Brandon Maish is a junior and will be making his theatrical debut as the Mysterious Man in Into the Woods, Jr. Brandon has no prior experience of acting or singing….outside of the shower. Off stage, Brandon is a 2nd degree black belt in taekwondo, represents his class on the Student Council, and assists the football program with filmography during the fall. He would like to thank the drama family for being so accepting and welcoming!
Steward (Gabriel Wiley)
Gabriel is appearing in his first production at North Miami. He is in eighth grade. Gabriel loves to sing and was excited to participate in a musical. Thanks to Malachi for scheduling his audition. Gabriel is excited to be a part of this production.
Backstage/set (Jordan Eaton)
Jordan is a freshman at North Miami. This will be Jordan's second production. She is enjoying the role of backstage manager and is having a lot of fun.
Sound (Audrey Myers)
Lee is a senior this year and has been in seven previous productions. They run sound and have helped out with set when it was needed. Lee is incredibly proud of how well the actors and backstage crew have done with this show.
Sound (Maliyah Hall)
Maliyah Hall is in ninth grade. They have done sound for both Clue and Into the Woods so far. They are unsure about going on stage as of now. This is their first year of drama.
Backstage/set (Lily Spicer)
Lilly Spicer is in eighth grade. This is her first production and she is loving it. She became involved in drama because she thought she would enjoy it - and she was right! Lilly would like to thank a few people for encouraging her to join: Jean, her friend Dean, Lexi, and Emily.
