FAME - THE MUSICAL Cast
Aiyanah Alston (CARMEN)is from Warrenton, NC and a Senior Theatre Performance Concentration Major. She played multiple roles in The Producers (2024) and this is her first principal role on the University Stage. She is grateful for the support from her family and friends.
Davion Person (SCHLOMO)is from Raleigh, North Carolina majoring in Theatre with a concentration in Performance. He played Curtis in Sister Act: The Musical (2024) by Rolesville High School, The Prince and the Giant in The Stinky Cheese Man (2024) by Rolesville High School.
Tyrone Andrews (NICK)is from New York and is a Theatre major with a concentration in performance at North Carolina Central University. He is forever thankful for the opportunities given to him. Some of the roles he played consisted of Max in the Producers, Kenny in the family comedy “Chicken and Biscuits” written by Douglas Lyons, Monroe a.k.a Monkey Man in “Drums of Sweetwater” written by Thomas Meloncon. He would like to thank his Family, Educators, Friends and his cast for the love and support. Thank you and enjoy the show!
Daniel "Courtland" Dixon (JOE)is from Raleigh, NC. He is a freshman Mass Communications major, and a Theatre minor. This performance marks Courtland's debut at NCCU. He is appreciative of the support from his family, friends, and community.
Carmen Ellis (SERENA)is from Atlanta, Georgia, and is majoring in Theatre, with a concentration in Performance. She played Little Ti Moune/Little Girl in Once On This Island (2022) by South Cobb High School, Ms. Foxhill in Suddenly Last Summer (2021) by South Cobb High School, and Natalie in Distracted (2022) by South Cobb High School.
Kindrick Davis (TYRONE)is from Florida residing in Fayetteville, NC. He is a Kinesiology Education Concentration Major. He is a self taught dancer skilled in various styles primarily Hip Hop, Contemporary and Jazz. For him, dance serves as both an escape and a potent form of self-expression . This is his first year with the Repertory Dance Academy
Jadin Tally (GOODY)is a Theatre major from Chesterfield, Virginia and a Performance Major at NCCU. This is his debut performance on the University Stage.
Marlie Howie (MABEL)is from Kannapolis, North Carolina and is a Sophomore at North Carolina Central UNiversity majoring in Theatre, with a concentration in Performance. She played Janine in The Colored Museum (2023) by A.L Brown High School’s International Thespian Society, Jack’s Mother in Into the Woods (2023) by A.L Brown High School. In 2023 I was awarded a Thespy award from the Internation Thespian Society for Superior Performance for Group Acting. I want to give special thanks to God, my mom Charlene, Bonus Dad Chad, Dad Rayco, my twin sister Raevin and baby brother Elias.
Jaden Bailey (GRACE/IRIS(UNDERSTUDY))is from Fayetteville, NC and a Freshman Theatre Dance Concentration Major at NCCU. She worked as technical crew for The Wizard of Oz (2022), performed in the ensemble cast of Grease (2023), and The Lion King Jr. She knows she could not be onstage without the support of her friends and family.
Parker Darby (IRIS)is from Clover, SC, she is a business Administration Major with a minor in dance. With 16 years of experience, Parker has trained extensively in Jazz, Tap, Hip-hop, Modern, Ballet, Contemporary, and Lyrical. This is her fourth year with the Repertory Dance Company.
Samya Howard (MS.SHERMAN)is from Raleigh, NC is majoring in Theatre with a concentration in Performance. She recently played Adella in "The Little Mermaid" at Rolesville High School and Tiana in a NCCU student led production of "Midnight Theater".
A'ishah Abdussatar (MS.BELL)is from Cleveland, OH is a Junior Mass Communication Major. This is her debut production with the department. She is excited for the opportunity and looks forward to performing more roles in the future.
Jamaree Clendenning (MR.MEYERS)is from Durham, NC, he is a Freshman Theatre Performance Concentration Major at NCCU. At Hillside High School he played Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors (2024) and Squidward Sponge Bob The Musical (2024). This is his debut performance on the University Stage,.He is excited to begin his collegiate journey. He thanks his friends and family for helping him to reach this goal.
Malachi Moore (MR.SHEINKOPF)is from Cary, North Carolina and is a Senior Theatre Performance Concentration Major here at NCCU. His most recent roles include his role as Ken Paige in Ain’t Misbehavin’ at NCCU (2022), Professor Henny Pest in On Striver’s Row at NCCU (2023), Dr. Shelton in Drums of Sweeter at NCCU (2023), Guy Jacobs in Blues for an Alabama Sky with Agape Theatre Company (2024), and most recently Sanders in Murder Most Fouled Up (2024). He is a two-time winner of Theatre Department’s Community Service Award and the Award for Most Promising Freshman. He is grateful to God for giving him a gift to share, and to his family and friends for all their support and love.
Tiana Bailey (MS.MEYERS(UNDERSTUDY))is from Bloomfield, Connecticut and is majoring in Theatre with a concentration in Performance. She was recently seen playing Woman 5 in Mad At Miles by Pearl Cleage, Kairi in 1000 Missed Calls (2024) by Jasmin Clark, Jaden in Turned Out (2024) by Elliot Kalisher, The Woman in Louisiana in Upon the Fragile Shore (2022) by Caridad Svich. Awards and recognitions include the Cesar Chavez Award, the Mitzi Yates Award, “Most Improved Actor” Award, “Most Brave Actor” Award, “Undaunted Artistic Perseverance” Award, Finalist in August Wilson Monologue competition, and Black Girls Ball Honoree. I would like to give a special thanks to God, my parents and Grammy for coming to every performance and helping me to push through. I would also like to thank my teachers and friends at G.H.A.A. for believing in my potential as an actor.
Makiyah Westbrook (SONYA)is from Charlotte, NC she is a Psychology major with a minor in Dance. At Northwest School of the Arts, she trained in modern, ballet, and contemporary dance. Later she trained with Inspired Dance Company and Kicks and Turn Dance Company, learning Jazz and Tap. This is her third year with the Repertory Dance Company.
