David Kachuol (Lead Stage Hand)
Hello, my name is David, and this is my second show of hopefully many, but right now, I’m just trying to figure out what “spiking” means and why everyone keeps talking about it. I’ve been told that being in this show will help me with working in team settings in the future—so far, that just means a lot of set-moving and wondering why nobody warned me about how heavy everything is. But hey, I’m a team player, right? The important part is that I move set. Like, that’s my job. I move the set. How did I get here, you ask? Well, it’s a wild ride. I was brought here by my girlfriend, Stella—who’s clearly the brains behind this whole operation—at the urgent request of the tech team, who clearly saw something in me. What that is? I’m still not sure. But here I am, moving set like my life depends on it, as though I have a natural gift for it (I don’t, but I’m trying my best). When not moving pieces of the set to who knows where, I enjoy pondering life’s big questions, like: “Why are there so many flats?” and “Wait, what’s a ‘cue’? Like, a line? A light cue? Do I need to know what that means?” (Spoiler: I don’t—yet.) So, thank you to Stella for dragging me into this and to the tech team for forcing me to become one of them. I’m still confused, but I promise, I’ll get it right eventually. Probably. Fun Fact: David has no idea what half of the terms mean, but he’s really good at moving things around, especially in circles—like he’s trying to figure out where everything is supposed to go. He doesn’t know either, but he’s definitely going to act like he does.
