Play On! Cast

Abigail is a senior at NPHS. They are very excited to be in this production of “Play On!” as Polly Benish. They have also been in “A 1940’s Radio Christmas Carol” as Toots, and “Radium Girls” as Irene and Ms. Wiley. Abigail is very involved in their school's music program and loves to perform. They would like to thank their family and friends for always supporting them in what they do!

Katelynn Scott is a Junior at NPHS. She has been a part of the Advanced Guitar Ensemble group for 5 years, she has played tennis for 3 years, and is a member of the Delphian Chorale. She has previously been in The Velveteen Rabbit, Shrek the Musical, Greatest Christmas Pageant Ever, Mary Poppins, Honk Jr, Law and Disorder, Stage Manager for Dial M for Murder, Singing in the Rain, Radium Girls, and Crazy For You.

Bella is a junior at NPHS, she has been involved in many shows including HONK, Law and Disorder, Singin’ in the Rain, Radium Girls, and most recently Crazy for you! Bella is a 5 year member of the QT Dance Team and is a part of the Delphian Chorale. Outside of theater, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, and playing with her dog Finnley. Bella would like to thank her friends and family for their constant support and love.

Sydney Purcell is a junior at NPHS. This is her fourth show, and you might have have seen her in Singin’ in the Rain, Radium Girls, and Crazy for You! She is a captain of the QT dance team and is a part of the Delphian Chorale. She would like to thank her friends and family for their endless support of all that she does!

Evy Bowers is very excited to play the role of Phyllis Montague in the New Philadelphia high school production of “Play On!”. Evy has been in many plays and musicals in the past. Her first musical was The Little Theatre’s production of “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang”, where she played a small role. Her next play was Welty Middle School’s production of “Law and Disorder”, she played a baby bear. The first WMS musical she was in was “Matilda Jr.”, where she played Matilda. Last year, she played the role of Wednesday Addams in the WMS production of “The Addams Family”. Evy has had an amazing time playing all of her roles and making amazing friendships! This play is Evy’s first high school production and she is so honored to be given all the roles she has had by her director, Christa Roberts! In Evy’s free time, you can find her playing tennis for the NP high school tennis team, swimming for the NP high school swim team, performing with her band called,”The Synthetic Roses' “, and hanging out with her friends! She would like to thank all of her friends, family, cast mates, and her director for always supporting her!

Olivia is so excited to be performing the role of Gerry in “Play On!”. Olivia has been participating in community and school theater productions throughout her Middle and Highschool years. Olivia is 9th grade and this is her first role in a high school production. She has performed in other roles including Lavender in Matilda Jr, Amos in Twas the Night Before Christimas, Alice in The Addams Family, and Spongebob in Spongebob Jr. In her free time Olivia enjoys to play the trumpet in the Marching Band, Swim, playing tennis, and perform with her friends in the band “The Synthetic Roses”. Olivia would like to thank her parents, friends, and director Mrs.Roberts for supporting her throughout this show.

Derek Shimek is excited once again to put on another performance at New Philadelphia. He has performed in many performances thus far, including the Little Theatre’s production of Spongebob the Musical! as a member of the ensemble and New Philadelphia High school’s productions of Crazy for You as Mingo and in Radium Girls as Charlie B. Lee. He sees it as an honor to have such great opportunities in New Philadelphia in the field of performance and is always excited to perform with a talented cast with many fun memories to make. Of those memories, some of his favorites with this production are the fun, unintended mistakes made by himself and his castmates. To close, he would like to thank his director for making this whole thing possible and remind the audience to, please, enjoy the show!

Scarling is a Sophomore at New Philadelphia High School. With a creative brain, she commonly finds herself partaking in artistic activities which lead her to start her own jewelry business called Indigo Crow Design. However, this is just one of her past times, you can also find her singing, watching stand-up comedy, and studying. She has a passion for theater and the performing arts. You may know her as The Trunchbull from Matilda, Nancy Jane Harlan from Radium Girls, and Lottie from Crazy for You.

Jordi Kopp is a junior. He has been seen in Trumpet in the Land, The Nutcracker, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, A Night On Broadway, Honk! Jr., Mary Poppins Jr., The Little Mermaid, Dial M for Murder, Singing in the Rain, Footloose, Radium Girls, and Crazy for You among others. Apart from acting, he likes to sing, play guitar, and hang out with his friends. He would like to thank everyone who has helped him along the way.

Garin Gingerich is a junior at NPHS. He is a member of the Delphian Chorale. He has previously participated in Singing in the Rain, Radium Girls, and Crazy for you. He is excited to be playing the role of Billy and would like to thank his friends and family for their support.
