The Manatee Community Concert Band performs a wide variety of music, from standard marches, Broadway and Movie hits, timeless swing classics, pop, classical and much more. Our goal has always been to provide the community a venue in which to perform as well as the opportunity to entertain our community with great musical selections. Members of this band come from all walks of life—collectively embracing over 2,100 years of musical experience. The expertise levels vary from members who have played in high school or college and now enjoy playing as a hobby since their retirement, to many who have been professional musicians for over 40 years, including some that have composed and arranged instrumental and choral music, and some that have directed their own bands.

Our members appreciate the experience received by participating in the weekly, fast-paced and demanding rehearsals; others enjoy the anti-aging effects of keeping their mind sharp through the continued practice of a life-long discipline. However, the common denominator is the love of music and the joy that only performing music for an audience can bring.

The Manatee Community Concert Band is known for its dedication to excellence, whether playing for the local community or performing for community events. The band relies on donations from generous individuals and corporations who love music. Through your support we are able to introduce people of all ages to live concert music, providing musical experiences and playing opportunities for all ages. Since 1966, the SCF Neel Performing Arts Center has served as a cultural center for Manatee and Sarasota counties hosting both College and community sponsored events. The main performance hall remodeled in 1999, the hall features a 65 x 40 foot stage, seating for 830 patrons, as well as wheelchair accessible seating and restrooms. The magnificent Elizabeth M. Eaton Memorial Pipe Organ, a 50-rank, 3-manual instrument built by nun master craftsman Charles McManis, was rededicated in October 2000.
