BETTY KASH MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

In 2012 Narrows Community Theater established the Betty Kash Memorial Scholarship Fund to provide financial assistance to graduating 8th graders who have an interest in theater, dance and performing and are furthering their education in theater and performance. As many people in Bay Ridge know, Betty Kash was a long time member of Narrows Community Theater who passed away in 2012. In her years as a performer and director Betty worked with children and shared her talents and love of theater with them. Her unbounding energy and bubbly personality always brought joy to anyone that had the pleasure to be in a show with her or see her perform. This annual scholarship is one way to let her work continue.

NCT sends the award criteria in late November, early December to the principals of schools in the area that go up to grade 8. Additionally, a reminder or second letter is sent in February/March. The winner or winners are then chosen in May so that the award presentation can be held at our June annual meeting.

This neighborhood has so many talented students. We look forward to honoring many recipients in the years to come. Anyone wishing to apply for the scholarship or would like further information should check this website for announcements of the next round of scholarship awards which will begin in late November.
