About The Mustang Musical Sketch Show

Part comedy sketches like in "Saturday Night Live" and "All That" and part musical numbers like in "Glee", this show will have you laughing at crazy characters and singing along to popular songs in ways you haven't heard them before. Join our lively cast and find out what happened to Charlie after Willy Wonka left him the factory, why Bigfoot is in the kitchen and what makes everyone break into song during the Salem witch trials. Several of the comedy sketches in the show were written and directed by Mount Vernon Middle School students!!

MV Theatre

The goal of our theatre department is to illuminate diverse stories and equip students with skills to thrive in the real world as well as the creative industry. Sometimes this means producing site-specific shows that are outdoors or off-campus. Other times, this looks like devised theatre, student-written plays, and world premieres. Often, this includes advanced puppetry and prop manipulation skills, technical design, prop building, set painting, and costume construction. We focus on process, which means we produce shows where the cast feels like a repertory theatre company by sharing the technical and acting responsibilities, working as a team, and supporting each other like a family. Using 2 on-campus black box theatres, Providence Place (a theatre a few steps from campus, managed by Orbit Arts Academy), Byers Theatre and Studio Theatre at Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center, our students have the opportunity to perform in several locations every season and learn to thrive in different environments.

Whether it's an original show or a play you might have heard of with an innovative twist, we enjoy producing theatre that surprises, heals, and inspires our community.
