About Heroes of Ulthra

Some of our puppets, the “Bips”

It all started last school year….

Mrs. LaCroix and Mr. Rich were inspired by shows like “The Lion King”, “War Horse” and “The Immortal Jellyfish Girl”.  The idea of our students learning a new style of performing intrigued us.  And we always enjoy writing our own shows.  So with that in mind, we set out to create a traditional “hero-on-a-quest” story with a twist… PUPPETS!

Knowing this unique style of storytelling would require teaching our students a new performance technique (not to mention writing the script, the construction of original creatures, fundraising, etc.) we decided we should give ourselves ample time to prepare.  At first, our students were apprehensive about the idea of only doing one show as opposed to our traditional two.  But as we shared our inspirations and vision…and parts of the script, they became enthusiastic about performing in such an unprecedented and monumental show.

That's one of the many reasons we love Theatre!  All that's needed to begin is an idea.  Share this idea with creative, passionate and talented people and you have the perfect recipe for a great show.  We hope you enjoy the world of Ulthra as much as we enjoyed creating it.
