Matilda Cast
Brianna Meyer (Matilda Wormwood)Brianna is a freshman and is thrilled to be playing the
role of Matilda. She has previously portrayed Matilda
in Matilda Jr. when she was in 6th grade. Other past
shows include Mary Poppins Jr. (Mary Poppins) and The Little
Mermaid Jr. (Carlotta). Brianna is also a competitive Irish dancer
at Griffith Academy. She would like to thank Mr. Cahill, Miss
Brugger, and Mrs. Farrell, as well as the entire cast, for making
this production such a wonderful experience.
Grace Szeghy (Miss Agatha Trunchbull)Grace is a junior excited to take on the role of
Agatha Trunchbull in Mercy/Xavier’s spring
production of Matilda. Her past performances
include Pippin (ensemble) Game of
Tiaras (Ellie), The Sound of Music (ensemble), and 12 Angry
Jurors (Juror #3). Outside of drama, Grace participates in Mercy
Chamber Choir, Music Ministry, and Mercy/Xavier Track and
Field. She would like to dedicate her performance to her
supportive friends and family.
Catherine Lomuntad (Miss Honey)Kate is a senior and is thrilled to be playing the role of
Miss Honey in Matilda. She has previously performed
in The Sound of Music (Liesel), Pippin (Leading
Player), Matilda (Matilda), Into the Woods Jr. (Little
Red), Legally Blonde Jr. (Paulette), Annie Jr. (Molly), The
Music Man, (Amaryllis) and more. Outside of theatre, Kate is the
president of Student Council and is involved in the soccer team,
Peer Ministry, Ecology Club, and Broadcast Journalism Club. Kate
would like to thank her family and friends for their unwavering
support.
Joshua Reichard (Mr. Wormwood)Joshua is a senior at Xavier and is excited to be
playing the role of Mr. Wormwood in Matilda. This is
his sixth drama production with the Mercy/Xavier
Drama Club. Outside of acting, Joshua is a Peer
Minister and works as a supervisor at a grocery store. He is also
an avid Swiftie. Joshua would like to thank his family and friends
for their support, as well as his directors and castmates for their
hard work and dedication.
Payton Vogt (Mrs. Wormwood)Payton is a junior and is ecstatic to be playing the
role of Mrs. Wormwood in Mercy/Xavier’s spring
production of Matilda. Her past stage credits
include The Sound of Music (Sister
Margaretta), A Christmas Carol (Ghost of Yet to
Be), Annie (Annie), Cinderella (Gabrielle), and she will be
performing in Seussical this April. Payton is also a member of
Chamber Choir, Mercy Music Ministry, Meriden Youth Theatre,
and Tri-M, and she competes as a swimmer and participates in
track and field. Outside of performing, Payton enjoys traveling,
reading, baking, and spending time with her friends and family.
She would like to dedicate her performance to her family,
especially her mom, Kari.
Isabella Hyte (Bruce Bogtrotter)Bella is a senior who loves cake, so it feels only
natural that she landed the role of Bruce in Matilda.
Her previous stage performances include The
Sound of Music (Nun) and The Lion King (Rafiki).
Bella is also a member of the Chamber Choir and Tri-M National
Honor Society. Outside of performing, she enjoys reading, driving,
eating, and belting out Broadway musical soundtracks. Bella
would like to thank her mom, Pap, two sisters, and the rest of her
family and friends for their support.
Emily Arnold (Lavender)Emily Arnold is a freshman and is excited to perform
in her first Mercy production. In the past, Emily has
been involved in Matilda Jr. as Lavender. Emily’s
favorite shows have been Matilda
Jr. and Seussical. She would like to thank Mrs. Brugger, Mr.
Cahill, and Mrs. Farrell for the opportunity, as well as the cast for
all the wonderful memories. Love you all—break a leg!
Lucien Delaney (Michael Wormwood)
Alexandria Grant (Tommy)Alexandria is a freshman and is thrilled to be playing
the role of Tommy in Mercy/Xavier’s spring
production of Matilda. Some of her previous
performances include The Wizard of Oz (Dorothy)
and The Little Mermaid (Sebastian). Outside of theatre,
Alexandria is involved in several activities, including serving on the
executive board at Mercy, participating in the music ministry,
competing in regional choir, and studying Kung Fu, piano, and
voice. She loves spending time with her family and friends and
having fun. Alexandria would like to dedicate her performance to
her loved ones.
Ella Basconi (Eric)Ella is a junior and is excited to be playing the role of
Eric in Mercy/Xavier’s spring production of Matilda.
Her past performances
include Rumpelstiltskin (Soloist), Fairy Tale
Misfits (Ellie), The Curious Incident, Pippin (Theo), The Sound
of Music, and Game of Tiaras (Merida). This is Ella’s fifth
performance with Mercy/Xavier. Outside of theatre, Ella is
involved in cheerleading, Surfriders, Music Ministry, Tri-M, and
Chamber Choir.
Elle Erwin (Nigel)Elle Erwin is a junior and is thrilled to be playing the
role of Nigel in Mercy/Xavier’s production
of Matilda. Her past stage credits
include Frozen (Sven), The Wizard of Oz (Ms.
Gulch), Into the Woods (Wicked Stepmother), and Shrek (Papa
Bear, Piper, King). Elle is a proud member of Mercy Chamber
Choir and Music Ministry. Outside of performing, Elle enjoys
reading, cheerleading, and playing softball. She would like to
dedicate this performance to her sister, who played Nigel in her
own production of Matilda.
Maybeline Hladky (Amanda)Maybeline Hladky is a freshman and is thrilled to be
playing the role of Amanda in Mercy/Xavier’s
production of Matilda. Some of her past
performances include Frozen Jr. (Princess Anna)
and The Little Mermaid Jr. (Flounder). At Mercy, she is involved
in concert choir, Tri-M Music Honor Society, soccer, and tennis,
and she also plays guitar. Maybeline would like to dedicate her
performance to her siblings and parents.
Leila Ertel (Alice)Leila is a freshman and is grateful to be working with
this year’s Mercy/Xavier cast and crew on the
production of Matilda! Her past stage credits
include Mary Poppins (Bird Woman)
and Fame (Mrs. Myers). This year, Leila is playing the role of
Alice. She is also a member of Concert Choir and plays field
hockey in the fall. Leila would like to dedicate her performance to
her family and her closest friend, Sydney.
Jaylen Williams (Hortensia)Jaylen is a freshman and is excited to be a part
of Matilda as Hortensia.Some of her favorite past
performances include 101
Dalmatians (Anita), Mean Girls (Dance Ensemble),
and Footloose (Wendy Jo). Outside of drama, Jaylen dances at
New England Dance and occasionally writes songs. She would
like to thank her parents, friends, and everyone who supports her
for always being there.
Brianna Hurlock (Doctor/ Mrs. Phelps)Brianna is a senior and is thrilled to be a part of this
year’s production of Matilda. She is playing the roles
of the Doctor and Ms. Phelps on stage this year.
Brianna is also a member of Mercy’s Chamber Choir,
Tri-M Honor Society, and will be inducted into the Thespian Honor
Society this spring. She would like to dedicate her performance to
her parents, friends, and especially to Mercy for all the support she
has received during her three years at the school.
Jack Daley (Escapologist/Big Kid)
Dory Antaya (Acrobat/Rudolpho/Big Kid)Dory is a junior and is excited to be playing the roles
of Rudolpho and the Acrobat in Mercy/Xavier’s
Spring production of Matilda. Her previous
performances include 12 Angry Jurors (Juror
#7), Footloose (dancer), The Sound of Music (Frau Zeller), and
many more. Outside of theatre, Dory is a member of Chamber
Choir, Mercy Music Ministry, and is a competitive dancer at Kinetic
Dance Force. She would like to thank her friends and family for all
their support.
Elizabeth Kelly (Children's Entertainer/Henchman)Elizabeth Kelly is a senior and is excited to be a part
of the Mercy/Xavier production of Matilda. Her past
stage credits include My Son Pinocchio
Jr. (Arancia), The Curious Incident of the Dog in
the Nighttime (Siobhan), and Game of Tiaras(Other Princess
#3). This is Elizabeth’s 7th production with Mercy/Xavier. Outside
of drama, she is a member of Mercy’s Chamber Choir, NHS, ITS,
Peer Ministry, and more. Elizabeth would like to dedicate this
performance to her mom, dad, siblings, her dog Tundra, and
God, and thank everyone who has supported her throughout her
theatre journey.
CC Caruso (Sergi/Cook/Big Kid)CC is a senior at Mercy and is thrilled to cap off their
high school theatre journey as Sergei in
Mercy/Xavier’s dazzling production of Matilda! They
have been involved in theatre since third grade and
have performed in Mercy/Xavier productions of High School
Musical (ensemble), Pippin (ensemble), Game of Tiaras (blood
packet guy), and 12 Angry Jurors (Juror 10). CC also enjoys their
roles in various Mercy student organizations, including serving as
safety captain of the robotics team and vice president of both the
Italian National Honor Society and the Justice and Peace Club. CC hopes you enjoy the show!

Sofia Nagorski (Big Kid)Sofia is a senior at Mercy and is excited to be a part
of Mercy/Xavier’s Spring production of Matilda. She
began her theatre journey in The Sound of
Music (ensemble). Outside of theatre, Sofia enjoys
creating art, walking her dog, and taking drives around her
hometown. She would like to dedicate her performance to her
family and friends.
