Wilson Gault Somers' holiday music tradition continues with the 2025 presentation of A Jazz Christmas in an exciting new venue. This year, we’re back in Delaware and at a new venue for us, but a well-known location. We’re at the Cab Calloway Theatre at the Cab Calloway School, long known as Delaware’s choice for arts education. It’s a 4PM start on Delaware Day, Sunday, December 7th.  We’ll celebrate Delaware, but we’re really excited to get your Holiday Season started! As always, you’ll hear a unique mix of holiday classics combined with wonderful holiday sounds from Mr. Somers' own catalog. In this heartwarming family event, the Wilson Somers trio with regular guest contributor Stan Slotter on trumpet, flugelhorn and flute and collaborator Joe Louden will be joined by Joan Walworth Somers and Tyler Somers for another  family Christmas celebration! It's sure to fill you with the Christmas spirit!
 

Creative Directors 

Wilson Gault Somers 

In addition to his composing, conducting and performing skills, Wilson Gault Somers has a long track record of imagining, building and staging compelling and highly entertaining music and programs. As a man of great faith, Wilson adds an extra dose of spirit and emotion to his many church productions as well as secular presentations across genres. His ability to coach the best from both vocalists and instrumentalists is a special talent that enhances every performance.
 

Joan Walworth Somers 

Joan Somers was born in New York City. The daughter of a pioneering cartoon animator who drew Popeye and Betty Boop and created Casper the Friendly Ghost, Joan was inspired & encouraged to pursue her talents as an illustrator, graphic designer, writer,  and interior decorator.

To complement Wilson Gault Somers and his music, Joan has collaborated on the two large-scale projects, Mass for the Homeless as librettist, and Requiem for 9/11 as creative director and editor. She also collaborated on the beautiful Love Can Change the World. As Creative Director of Music with a Mission, Inc., Joan has provided her artistic talents as a designer and illustrator to help shape the organization's visual identity.

Music with a Mission, Inc. is a Delaware not-for-profit corporation under Section 501 (c) (3) of the US Internal Revenue Code. Music with a Mission exists to support the creative work of Wilson Gault Somers and the composition and performance of other local composers and artists. Significant portions of net retained proceeds from its events are contributed to support important public causes at the local, regional, and national level.
