About The Wizard of Oz

The Wizard of Oz is a timeless classic, adapted for the stage by John Kane for the Royal Shakespeare Company. Our production is based on the film, which has many of the bells and whistles that are in your memory of the movie. Dorothy Gale, after a twister, whisks her away from Kansas to the magical land of Oz, must travel to the Emerald City to receive the help of the titular wizard. Along the way she meets iconic characters to help her on her travels, all searching for something to make them complete. It's a show that is near and dear to many, with the eternal lesson; the things you search for are never too far to find, often times they've been inside you all along.

Masquers of West Essex

The Masquers of West Essex is the theater production club for 9-12th graders here at West Essex Regional High School. Students have a part in every aspect of the production from performing to building and painting our amazing set pieces. Along the way, they improve their collaboration skills, nurture their creativity, and connect with one another on a shared final product. Masquers produces 1 Fall Drama, 1 Spring Musical, and 2 Cabarets. Students who continue to demonstrate their dedication to the Masquers program are invited to join our chapter of the International Thespian Society, an internationally recognized honor society for theater artists.
