Director/Producer
Laura Hilger '14Laura is the Director of Speech and Theatre here at Marian Catholic. She spends her days directing plays, musicals, and Group Interpretations on the same stage she grew up performing on. Recent directorial credits also include Something Rotten at The Erica Heilmann Theatre in Oak Lawn. Thank you to the production team for working so hard to accomplish this production. To the seniors who have become wonderful young adults on this stage- enjoy it while it lasts! Play, have fun, and take in every moment. Assistant Director
Joshua CashAs the humor speech coach at Marian, Josh is excited to bring his skills and love of comedy over to the theatre side of the department by working on this show. He has been coaching many of these students since their freshman year and is ready to watch them thrive on the stage.
Vocal Director
Curtis JohnsonAs the new Director of Choir here at Marian Catholic, Curtis is excited to collaborate with the Theatre Department on this production.
Choreographer
Brandi Brumfield BellBrandi has been bring her magic to the MCHS stage choreographing musicals since 2019. Past credits include The Wiz, Footloose, Anything Goes and Chicago, and the Spartan Variety Shows! Brandi has been a dance instructor for several years, teaching since she was 14 years old. Brandi has taught many genres including swing, mime, tap, liturgical (praise dance), contemporary, african, musical theatre, jazz, and Hip Hop. She has choreographed everything from plays, to music videos, to flash mobs. Brandi lives, eats, breathes, sleeps DANCE…it’s her drug of choice! She gets the most joy prepping for the MCHS musical and watching the students blossom and their growth from auditions to the amazing performers you see on stage today!
Scenic Designer & Builder
Zachary GipsonZachary focuses most of his time designing safe atmospheres for young creatives to explore the art and craft of theatre at Culver Academies as the Technical Director of Theatre and Designer. He is a Jeff nominated scenic designer and a multiple NIETF award winner as a producer, designer(projections, lights, and scenic), and choreographer. Joining the team of “Spelling Bee” has been an absolute pleasure. He sends his best wishes to the cast and crew. A big thank you to all for being so welcoming and for all your hard work and attention to detail. Break legs!
Lead Costumer
Coralie HumbertCoralie is ecstatic to be back at it with costumes for this year’s fall play. This is her last fall play so she wants to make it the best one yet. She has been doing costumes since freshman year for all of the productions at Marian. She has been working hard and is super excited for this show and she can’t wait until the show!
Stage Manager
Noelle TreadwellNoelle is extremely excited to be the stage manager for the show. This is her first time being in tech crew and she really enjoyed the experience. She really loves the theatre community and enjoyed being both behind the scenes and on stage!
Sound Technician
Sarah RogersThis is Sarah's first show working with the Marian Catholic Theatre Department, but it certainly won't be her last. She dove right into the booth and tackled every challenge that came her way!
Choreographer
Jaidyn BushJaidyn is stoked to help in this production of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee! Jaidyn has previously been in MCHS’ productions of ‘Chicago’ and in ‘The Wiz’ as multiple roles and the student choreographer. Jaidyn would like to thank her family and friends for supporting her work in the show. She would also like to thank the cast for giving it their all. Enjoy the show!

Anthony ClaxtonAnthony is enthusiastic to work in his fourth production! He has worked on previous plays and musicals, which includes Footloose, Peter and the Star Catcher, and, the most recent production, The Wiz. Anthony would like to thank his parents and family for supporting him in helping in the theatre program! Enjoy this production of Spelling Bee!

Jared Smevoll Jared is excited to be back in the theatre, apart of tech crew for his third show here at Marian! He previously worked on Peter and the Starcatcher and The Wiz. Jared is proud of the hard-work he and the entire stage crew have done to help make the show possible. Jared would like to thank his family for being so nurturing. He hopes you enjoy the show!
Microphone Technician
Rose WozniakRose is very excited to be working on her second production. She previously worked on building the sets for The Wiz and doing their hair and makeup. She is excited to do it once again and improve her skills. Rose wants to thank her friends and family for always being supportive and having her back!
Assistant Stage Manager
Isaiah AllisonIsaiah is so thrilled to be back again with MCHS theater! This is his second production and first fall play here at MCHS! Previous role includes: Winged Monkey/Ensemble in The Wiz. This is also his first time being on tech crew! Isaiah wishes all of the cast members good luck and thank you to everyone who have always supported him!
Prop Master
Allison MelvinAllison is trilled this production doesn’t include props that will get the cast disqualified! From briefcases to goldfish, Allison has had a blast with the props. She has worked backstage since she was a freshman all those years ago and has adored every second of it. Allison would like to thank her family, especially her dad for bestowing the wisdom that Duct Tape and WD40 will fix anything. Have a wonderful evening!!!
