About The Wedding Singer
In 1985, Robbie Hart, a beloved wedding singer, charms guests with his bandmates Sammy and George ("It's Your Wedding Day"). At a wedding, he meets Julia Sullivan, a waitress hoping her boyfriend Glen will propose ("Someday"). Meanwhile, Robbie is excited to marry his fiancée, Linda, and writes her a song. However, on their wedding day, Linda leaves him at the altar ("A Note from Linda"), sending him into a downward spiral.
Julia gets engaged to Glen, an arrogant businessman, while trying to cheer Robbie up. She asks him to help with her wedding planning, leading to unexpected chemistry ("Not That Kind of Thing"). Holly, Julia’s cousin, notices their connection and tries to make Robbie jealous. During a wild night out, Glen reveals he is unfaithful, making Robbie question Julia’s choice.
Robbie attempts to become successful like Glen but realizes he loves Julia ("If I Told You"). However, before he can tell her, she sees Linda at his house and assumes they’re back together. Heartbroken, she decides to elope with Glen. Robbie rushes to stop her and, with help from Vegas impersonators, crashes their wedding. He serenades Julia with a heartfelt song ("Grow Old with You"), exposing Glen’s infidelity. Julia leaves Glen and agrees to marry Robbie instead. The story ends with a joyous wedding celebration ("Act II Finale").

Mainstage Center for the Arts
Mainstage Center for the Arts fosters a vibrant, nurturing environment where youth and adults use the performing arts for personal expression and growth, enhancing the quality of life in South Jersey.
We envision a future where:
- Creative expression is integral to education.
- The performing arts unite and inspire our community.
- Everyone can engage with the arts as participants, audiences, or professionals.
- Mainstage is a premier hub for artistic programs and services.
Founded in 1989 by Edward P. Fiscella, Jr., Mainstage began as a summer theater program at Glen Landing Middle School. Its success led to year-round programming, incorporation as a nonprofit in 1994, and a rebrand in 1997. Without a dedicated theater, we formed partnerships to provide arts education and performances across the region.
Today, Mainstage serves over 50,000 people annually, directly reaching 1,200 children through classes and workshops. Recognized as one of South Jersey’s top performing arts centers, we are supported by grants, sponsorships, and contributions, with backing from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts.
