About Newsies Jr.

In the summer of 1899, the newsies of New York City, young boys and girls selling newspapers, face challenges when Joseph Pulitzer raises newspaper prices. Jack Kelly, dreaming of a better life out west, leads a strike with his friend Crutchie. They form a union, endure arrests and attacks, but gain momentum. Katherine, a reporter, helps them publicize their cause. Facing betrayal and a tough choice, Jack, the union leader, agrees to end the strike. However, Katherine motivates him to expose the truth, leading to a compromise with Pulitzer. The newsies triumph, and Jack realizes their camaraderie is irreplaceable. The strike ends, and the newsies celebrate their victory.
