“What do you do for a living, Mrs. Levi?" asks Ambrose Kemper in the first scene of Hello, Dolly! "Some people paint, some sew... I meddle," replies Dolly and we are on a whirlwind race round Yonkers as we follow the adventures of that mischievous matchmaker, Dolly Gallagher Levi. Hello, Dolly! is the story of Mrs. Levi's efforts to marry Horace Vandergelder, the half-millionaire, so that she can send his money circulating the way her late husband Ephraim Levi taught her.

This organization is called Lancaster High School Drama Club along with Lancaster High School-Major Productions.

LHS Drama Club  works in conjunction with the Thespian troupe #1848 of The International Thespian Society and has been chartered by LHS.

We try to give all students an opportunity to flourish in the arts either through being on stage or working behind the scenes like lights, sound, costumes, make-up, etc.

Lancaster High School drama allows flexibility for all types to join. Students can hone-in on their on-stage performances, which is great practice for anyone afraid to speak in public. Drama also provides more hands-on students a chance to excel behind the scenes through all types of crews: Set, Make-up, Costumes, Lighting, Sound, etc.
 

We service the community by preparing these students better but also by providing Broadway-like entertainment to the masses who cannot make it to a professional show. It creates an opportunity for all to see/understand the value of the arts.
