Our mission is to enrich and inspire our communities through performance, outreach and education.
We do this in a variety of ways:
1 - Music Mentors Program - this program works with schools in the Bellevue School District that need assistance with their band and orchestra students, providing professional musicians at no cost to the school or the students, to work with students in each section who may not have the opportunity to have lessons. We work with the teachers on what the needs are and work together towards goals set by the teachers.
2 - Education Concert - this is an annual (free) concert, during the week, in March of each year and is geared towards 5th grade students in both Bellevue and Lake Washington School Districts, allowing students the opportunity to see a professional concert as a field trip, at no cost to the students or the school. This concert is open to the general public and is free to anyone who would like to attend. In 2024, students who are home-schooled, in preschool, in daycare, some middle school students and adults or a variety of ages. The program is created to represent the diversity of our region and is much loved!
3 - Community Outreach - each year since 2021, we have had small ensembles performing at Redmond Saturday Market, at least once a month, and is a free mini-concert. A variety of groups perform and they choose the music based on being in a family friendly setting, and they rehearse together before their Saturday. In 2024, we will have had a total of 4 Saturdays, with two groups per day, allowing approximately 30 musicians to work. We have also performed at Redmond Town Center and have partnered with KidsQuest Children's Museum during their Music Evenings during the summer.
4 - Concerts - We hold between 4 and 5 concerts a year and two are free to attend. For our Halloween Concert, we ask that adults make a donation, Education is free, and the others, we strive to keep costs low so it is equitable to attend for everyone. We also have a number of free or reduced tickets for anyone who cannot afford the price of a ticket.
We are working to expand our programming and we can't do it without you! We would be so honored if you would make a donation and consider a recurring donation. Even $20 a month can go a long way. There are also opportunities to become a sponsor if you are interested.
We look forward to seeing you this year!
