Director
Mrs. Nikki GuckianAustin native, Nikki Guckian received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting from Texas State University. She worked in the Special Effects Sound Editing business, where her crew (under Alan Murray) won an Oscar for Best Sound Editing. After taking a hiatus from behind-the-scenes work, she joined the cast of the daytime television drama Passions on NBC. Nikki began her teaching career at a boarding school in Sedona, AZ before returning back to the Austin area. After serving the communities of both Austin ISD and Leander ISD, she is now ecstatic to be a part of the Lake Travis family and to have the opportunity to work with such amazing and talented students. She would like to thank her amazing husband, Alan Guckian and their children, Tristan and Hunter, for their constant support and of course her biggest fans, her parents, Bobby and Kay Spinosa. Big thanks, to K.J Bartosh, Aaron Stahlecker, and Laura Stokes for being such great co-workers and a fantastic team.
Music Director
Mr. Adam PoynorBorn and raised in Abilene, Adam Poynor earned both a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education and a Master of Music degree in Choral conducting from Hardin-Simmons University.
Before going into his teaching career, he was the Assistant Director of the Abilene Performing Arts Company for three years. When not performing on stage, he was the Music Director for Paramount Productions, Abilene Community Theatre, and the McMurry Summer Musical Theatre Program.
He began his teaching career in 2010 when he moved to Austin to be the choir director at Chapa Middle School. He moved to Lake Travis High School in 2018 and is loving every minute of it. The Cavalier Choir feels like home and he is so proud to be able to lead this talented group year after year.
Adam is a member of Texas Choral Directors Association, American Choral Directors Association, Texas Music Educators Association, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, conducts the Lakeway Wildflowers, and sings with Voci d’Amici.
Assistant Music Director
Ms. Lee Ashlee FletcherIn her second year of teaching, Lee Ashlee Fletcher is a graduate of Baylor University where she earned the Bachelor of Music Education degree. At Baylor, she was a Walker Harman Scholar and remained active in dual roles as a vocalist and flutist - performing with the acclaimed and Baylor Symphony Orchestra and at significant national conferences with the Baylor Wind Ensemble and Baylor Bella Voce. While in college, she held the Second Flute chair with the Waco Symphony Orchestra. She holds professional affiliations with TMEA, ACDA, TCDA, and NAfME.
A native of Austin, Ms. Fletcher is a graduate of Westlake High School in Eanes ISD. When not teaching, she enjoys writing and performing music with her best friends, exploring the nature that Texas has to offer, and watching all the corgi videos she can!
Lee Ashlee would like to thank everyone involved in this year's production of Cinderella, this event is truly magical and couldn't have been pulled off without each and every person!!
Choreographer
Karen HigginsKaren Higgins is an accomplished dancer and choreographer with over 35 years of teaching experience in the field of dance and musical theater. SHe holds both BFA/MS in Dance and Physchologyfrom West Virginia University. Her early dance training began at The North Carolina School of Performing Arts under Duncan Noble and Point Park University in Pittsburgh. Karen trained professionally with Ronnie Mahler, Ronnie DeMarco, and Renee Wadleigh. Later she taught dance as an adjunct faculty at West Virginia University. Karen has performed and choreographed in over 70 musical theater and dance productions and received numerous teaching and choreography awards. She has been the artistic director for several dance companies in Texas and West Virginia. Karen is married to Dr. Henry Higgins, and they have four children, Isaac, Lauren, Ian, and Adam.
Production Manager
Mr. K.J. BartoshK.J. Bartosh is the Managing Director of the Performing Arts Center, and Chair of the Fine Arts Department at LTHS. A native of Austin, Mr. Bartosh graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, which included advanced coursework in automated lighting design. He earned his Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Concordia University Texas. Mr. Bartosh has worked as a lighting and sound designer & technician, and continues to light shows professionally. Mr. Bartosh is an active member of the United States Institute of Theatre Technology (USITT), where he serves as a Chapter Sponsor and is involved in the development of the BACKstage examination for high school students. He’s incredibly proud to have played a role in so many student successes.
Technical Director
Mr. Aaron StahleckerAaron graduated from Valparaiso University in 2004 with a Bachelor's of Arts in Theatre and Television Arts. Following graduation from college, Aaron moved to Chicago to pursue a career in film and theatre. While in Chicago, Aaron worked for the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre as well as the Goodman Theatre. In the Fall of 2005, he began working for Feld Entertainment with the tour of Ringling Bros. And Barnum & Bailey Circus as a Lighting Technician and Pyrotechnician, where he toured for a year. In 2006, he directed a feature film for submission into the Festival circuit. Aaron has been teaching, directing, and designing since 2008. He has Directed / Scenic Designed many theatre / musical productions such as Kiss Me, Kate!, Guys and Dolls, Bye Bye Birdie, Thoroughly Modern Millie, As It Is In Heaven, and The Odd Couple as well as many others. He has also designed for shows in the Greater Austin Area for Zilker Theatre Productions (Little Shop of Horrors '13) and River City Pops.
Director of Stage Management
Ms. Laura StokesLaura Stokes has taught Theatre 1 and Technical Theatre 1 at Lake Travis High School going on three years. She has a Bachelor's degree in Theatre Arts and a Master's degree in Education. Laura has Stage Managed several shows including Metamorphoses, Steel Magnolias, and These Shining Lives. In 2016, she was a general production intern for Hope Summer Repertory Theatre in Michigan. Laura is excited to continue her career here at Lake Travis High School, and grow student appreciation for Theatre Arts.
