About The Human Condition - A Short Play Festival

Opening March 23 and running one weekend, the Theatre Department at Lake Erie College will present a selection of short plays
under the theme The Human Condition. Theatre Professor Jerry C. Jaffe explains that there will be four short plays, including the debut of an original play written and directed by Abigail Marie called “No return.” Set in the near future where there is raging heat and a severe water shortage, two people make their daily trip for water while they discuss what their lives have become. The cast includes Sean Scott, Abrar Ghazy, and Kenyon Tomlinson. “No Return” has received readings in New York City and other places such as New Zealand.

Three more plays are included, all directed by Jaffe. Jaffe says he selected the plays to match the actors, who are a mix of students and community members. Two of these plays were also written by Professor Jaffe.  The plays are “A Corpse with Feet” by Betsuyaku Minoru, and “One More Goal” and “The Toledo Holocaust memorial” both of which were written by Jaffe.  NOTE:  “One More Goal” will only be shown on March 23, 24, & 25 due to cast availability.
