About Disaster!

It's 1979, and New York's hottest A-listers are lining up for the opening of a floating casino and discotheque. Also attending is a faded disco star, a sexy nightclub singer with her eleven-year-old twins, a disaster expert, a feminist reporter, an older couple with a secret, a pair of young guys who are looking for ladies, an untrustworthy businessman and a nun with a gambling addiction. What begins as a night of boogie fever quickly changes to panic as the ship succumbs to multiple disasters, such as earthquakes, tidal waves and infernos. As the night turns into day, everyone struggles to survive and, quite possibly, repair the love that they've lost... or at least escape the killer rats.

Featuring some of the most unforgettable songs of the '70s. "Knock on Wood," "Hooked on a Feeling," "Sky High," "I Am Woman" and "Hot Stuff" are just a few of the scintillating hits in this hilarious musical comedy with a book by three-time Emmy Award nominee and SiriusXM Broadway host, Seth Rudetsky, and Jack Plotnick.

Ketchikan High School

Founded in 2021, the Kayhi Drama Kings are the vibrant pulse of performing arts at Ketchikan High School. Despite our rainy island setting, we bring the heat to the stage with a bold mix of musicals, classic plays, and contemporary drama.

We are a student-driven collective dedicated to great storytelling and creative grit. Our group has quickly earned a reputation for excellence, achieving major milestones in just a few short years:

In 2023, we were the only theater troupe in the state licensed by Disney to perform the Alaska premiere of Frozen.

In 2024, we were one of only 29 schools nationwide selected to premiere the high school edition of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

We are honored to be one of only 30 U.S. schools invited to perform at the prestigious Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland in 2025.

From the first curtain call to the final bow, the Drama Kings are proud to represent the talent and spirit of Southeast Alaska’s next generation of artists. Rain or shine, the show goes on.
