Juliet Rice (Catherine of Aragon)
Divorced. In 1485, Catherine of Aragon was born to Queen Isabella of Castille and King Ferdinand of Aragon. Before Marrying Henry, Catherine had married his older brother, Arthur. 5 months after the wedding, Arthur died of an illness, and Henry VIII was crowned heir. Catherine and Henry married in 1509 and had one daughter together, Mary who later became queen of England and Ireland. Catherine was queen for 20 years and beloved by her adopted country. Fun Fact: Catherine acted as Regent in 1913 when Henry VIII was fighting in France and King James IV of Scotland attempted to invade England.
June Holmes (Anne Boleyn)
Beheaded. The second wife of Henry VIII, Anne Boleyn is considered to be his most famous wife. Born around 1501, Anne was the daughter of Sir Thomas Boleyn and Elizabeth Howard. Anne lived in France for 7 years before returning to England, where she became a lay-in-waiting to Catherine of Aragon and caught Henry's eye. Desperate to marry her, Henry VIII broke ties with the Catholic Church to divorce Catherine of Aragon. Fun Fact: Anne was the first queen to be publicly executed.
Sophia Duncan (Jane Seymour)
Died. Jane Seymour was the third wife of Henry the 8th and daughter of Sir John Seymour. She became one of Catherine of Aragon's ladies-in-waiting around 1529 and later one of Anne Boleyn's. Two weeks after Anne Boleyn was executed, Jane and Henry were married. During their marriage, Jane tried to fix Mary's relationship with Henry. Along with being known as Henry's calmest wife, Jane was the only wife to give Henry a legitimate heir: Edward VI. Fun Fact: Jane was never crowned because her coronation was delayed due to plagues and revolts.
Beatrice Brenden-Dodson  (Anna of Cleves)
Divorced. Anna of Cleves was born in modern-day Germany and was the daughter of John III, Duke of Cleves. her marriage to King Henry VIII was a political one, strengthening his position and opposition to the Pope. Anna is most known for being rejected by Henry because of her looks, however some people believe the marriage was unwanted by both parties. After they separated, Anna still remained a good friend of the Tudors and became somewhat of an aunt to Henry's kids. Fun Fact: Anna outlived Henry and all of his wives.
Antonia Grassi (Katherine Howard)
Beheaded. Katherine Howard was born into a well-known family and was first cousins with Anne Boleyn. After her mother died, Katherine was sent to be raised by her grandmother, the Dowager Duchess of Norfolk. In 1939, Katherine became one of Anna of Cleves' ladies-in-waiting where she was noticed by King Henry VIII. A few weeks after separating from Anna of Cleves, Henry married Katherine. About two years later, Katherine was executed for adultery and may have been as young as 18. Fun Fact: Katherine was given the nickname "The Rose Without a Thorn."
Adrianne (Catherine Parr)
Survived. The last wife of Henry VIII, Catherine Parr was born in 1913. her parents were well known in the Tudor court and Catherine grew up well educated. She was married twice before Henry and widowed each time. During her time as queen, Catherine became close with her stepdaughters, especially Elizabeth who later translated one of Catherine's books into three other languages. She also helped Elizabeth and Mary reconcile with Henry and bring them back into the line of succession. Fun Fact: Catherine strongly supported religious reform and wrote many books of her own.
