Spicer (Harvey Williams)
Harvey Williams is the founder of KC Melting Pot Theatre. His critically acclaimed plays Old School, The Session, On Shoulders Now and 2121 have delighted Kansas City audiences. He has performed at theatres across Kansas City in productions of Driving Miss Daisy, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, Little Tommy Parker, The Watsons go to Birmingham, Now Let Me Fly, The Piano Lesson, Fences, 12 Angry Men, 1940's Radio Hour, Bank Job, and The Green Duck Lounge. His KC Melting Pot performances include Old School Ghetto Gospel, Waiting to be Invited, A Soft Escape and Sunset Baby. His performances with InPlay include The African Company Presents Richard the III, Monkey Don't Drink Hot Chocolate, Othello, Journey with Barbara Jordan and most recently Grapes Vine. Harvey has toured with Central Standard Theatre in Bedford, UK, and the Adelaide Fringe Festival in Adelaide, Australia. He is a UMKC alumni and a member of the SAG/AFTRA and AEA. After this production Harvey is turning his attention to developing the KC Melting Pot Film Division.
Norma (Lynn King)
Lynn King is a native of Kansas City Kansas and has been performing for Kansas City Audiences for over 30 years. She received her MFA in Acting from the University of Missouri, Kansas City and has regional and national credits in theatre, commercials, and film. During her career as a theatre instructor, she directed over thirty productions. Lynn is one of the original members of the KC Melting Pot Collective, appearing in their first-ever production of Old School Ghetto Gospel, in 2013. Lynn was last seen in KCMPT’s production of A Raisin in the Sun. She is ecstatic to return to the stage after the shutdown but has been busy working in other capacities with KCMPT. KCMPT provided Lynn with her directorial debut in 2019 and she was privileged to be one of the all-female directors in the 2021-22 season with the staging of BARBECUE by Robert O'Hara. Lynn is blessed to continue to do what she loves. Special thanks to Linda, Harvey, Nicole, Ile, and Dennis.
Andrea (Jackie Price)
Jackie has had a passion for entertainment and performing arts since an early age! She takes pride in her part of creating memorable theatrical experiences for those in her community. Jackie received her training from the University of Central Missouri, achieving her BFA Musical Theatre degree, as well as the Tasha Smith Acting Studio. Upon completing her education, Jackie has been cast in various short films and theatre productions within the Kansas City Area. Jackie has appeared in Dominique Morriseau’s Pipeline (Unicorn Theatre), Matt Cox’s Puffs (The Coterie), and Tony Kushner’s Caroline or Change (Spinning Tree Theatre). This is Jackie’s second production with KC Melting Pot Theatre and is so excited to be a part of the cast!
Gordon (Lewis Morrow)
Lewis Morrow is an actor/playwright from Kansas City, KS who also serves as the Director of New Play Development at KC Melting Pot. He has been on stage here at KCMPT in shows such as 2121, Sunset Baby, Radio Golf, King Hedley II, and most recently Baybra’s Tulips. Additionally, his plays have been produced or developed in North Carolina, Michigan, Las Vegas, Texas, and upcoming shows scheduled in 2022 in Indiana and Kentucky.
Anita (Amber Redmond)
Amber Redmond is extremely proud to be able to work with KC Melting Pot Theatre. A longtime patron of the arts, this show marks her first in over a decade. She is a graduate of Theatre from Missouri Western State University. She's wishes to thank her family and friends for their support and encouragement to return to the art that she first fell in love with years ago.
Dr. Ross (Cecilia Ananya)
Cecilia Ananya is grateful to be with Melting Pot Theatre again. An MFA graduate from UMKC, she began her acting here, in her hometown of Kansas City, where she's performed at The Coterie Theatre in Mice and Men as Curley's Wife and Lorraine Hansberry in To Be Young, Gifted & Black, amongst various other roles, and The Unicorn Theatre in Jar The Floor as Lola and as Sarah in Mud, River, Stone. She has worked in film, television, Off Broadway and with some of the nation's most prestigious Regional Theatres. Her favorite roles include; Titania in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Tamora in Titus Andronicus, Lady In Red in For Colored Girls, Lou Bessie in Old Settler, Linda in Does A Tiger Wear A Necktie?, Beneatha and Ruth in Raisin In The Sun (and wants to play Mama one day). She is ecstatic to be back at The Melting Pot Theatre, and thanks the powers that be for the opportunity. Cecilia is also an educator, community organizer, consultant and "artivist".
Kiko (Larry "Wise" Guidry)
E. Larry Guidry born a Midwest native but raised in the bayous of Louisiana started entertaining at the age of 26 in the arena of Poetry. Performing anywhere anyone would listen including KC's own Gem Theatre. Success in poetry expanded him to try music which he adopted the name B.Wize (iambwize.com). After a brief stint with acting in 2011, the acting bug surfaced again in 2021, and since then, E. Larry has been in over 15 productions and counting.
