Director & Set Designer
Lewis MorrowLewis Morrow is an actor/playwright from Kansas City, KS who also serves as the Director of New Play Development at KC Melting Pot. He has been on stage here at KCMPT in shows such as 2121, SUNSET BABY, RADIO GOLF, KING HEDLEY II, BAYBRA’S TULIPS, BEGETTERS, MOTHER/son, THE PIANO LESSON, IS GOD IS, WHO’S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF?, SEVEN GUITARS, JAWBONE CRACK QUICK, and most recently FENCES. Additionally, KC Melting Pot gave Lewis his directorial debut with THE SESSION by Harvey Williams. Morrow’s plays have been produced or developed in North Carolina, Michigan, Las Vegas, Texas, and shows in 2022 in Indiana and Kentucky. He has published a book titled “Black Matters: Lewis Morrow Plays” which features his trilogy of plays centered around family.

Stage Manager
Melonnie WalkerMelonnie Walker is a theatre historian, educator, and alum of UMKC’s Master of Arts program in Theatre History. She is the Artistic Director - Operations for KC Melting Pot Theatre and has served as the resident research and production dramaturg for six seasons so far. She is an advisory board member of the August Wilson Society and Regional VP for the Literary Managers and Dramaturgs of the Americas. Melonnie is grateful for her theatre family here at KCMPT and she is inspired to do the work that preserves and uplifts black theatre history for future generations.

Assistant Stage Manager
Laura BurtLaura Burt is a stage manager and actor from Kansas City, Missouri. She has worked with several theatres in Kansas City including: OCTA, City Theatre of Independence, The Barn Players, Buffalo Room, Fringe Festival, Tradewind Arts, Relevance Productions, KC Melting Pot, and Theatre Lawrence. She is a licensed counselor in the Kansas City area who works primarily with women. Thank you to KC Melting Pot, the Supers, her family, and her amazing partner Richard.

Sound Designer
Dennis JacksonDennis Jackson, is a Kansas City native. He designed sound for Jackie Sibblies Drury’s Fairview, James Baldwin’s Amen Corner, Brysen Boyd’s Family SideShow at KC Melting Pot Theatre, Dominique Morriseau’s Skeleton Crew at Kansas City Actors Theatre, Douglas Lyon’s Chicken and Biscuits at The Black Repertory Theatre of Kansas City, Terrace Wyatt, Jr’s Black Man, MO at Terrace Studios, Kenneth Jones’ Alabama Story and Kate Hennig’s Mother’s Daughter at Metropolitan Ensemble Theatre and Robert Reale and Willie Reale’s A Year With Frog and Toad at The Coterie Theatre. He has appeared in August Wilson’s King Hedly ll, Two Trains Running, Piano Lesson, Seven Guitars and Fences; Robert O’Hara’s Barbecue and Lewis Morrow’s Six O’clock, to name a few, all with KC Melting Pot Theatre, crafting the soundscapes for these productions, as well. He has also appeared in Lorraine Hansberry’s A Raisin In The Sun and Keenan Scott ll’s Thoughts Of A Colored Man, both with The Black Repertory Theatre of Kansas City. Light Designer
Warren DeckertWarren's 50+ years of theatre experience includes being the Artistic/Technical Director for Great Bend Community Theatre, Technical Director/Designer for the Bethel College Drama Department and union membership in I.A.T.S.E., Local 190, Wichita, KS. He has directed or designed over 225 plays, musicals and operas. Highlights include ROAD TO YONDER (Dallas Theatre Center), MAN OF LA MANCHA, COSI FAN TUTTE, THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE (Bethel College), BERNICE AT BAY/THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT, GIDION’S KNOT, ANY QUESTIONS? (KC Fringe Festival), THE TAST TEST, FOR COLORED GIRLS… (KC Melting Pot Theatre). He is an assistant house manager/volunteer coordinator at KC Repertory Theatre and a technical director/board member for Just Off Broadway Theatre.
