Medea Cast
Alexis Stanfield (Medea)is a sophomore majoring in Theatre with a performance concentration and a Psychology minor. This is her first ever lead role. Alexis played Adam and Audrey in JSU’s recent production of As You Like It. She also played M2 in APO’s production of The Iliad, The Odyssey, and All of Greek Mythology in 99 Minutes or Less, and she was the playback operator for JSU’s production of Spring Awakening. She absolutely loves her theatre family here and wants to thank the cast, crew, and director for this amazing opportunity and experience.
Lydia Roan (Nurse)is a freshman at JSU with a major in Computer Science and a minor in Theatre Performance. This is her first role at JSU, and she hopes to be a part of many more shows while she is here. She worked behind the scenes for As You Like It, and quite enjoyed it. She plans to work in the theatre whenever she can, and can't wait to see what else she can achieve!
Edith Davis (First Woman)is a sophomore majoring in Secondary Education with a focus in ELA, as well as a member of JSU's chapter of Alpha Psi Omega. She has previously performed in JSU's 2022 and 2023 One Act Showcase as Mrs. Page in Ryan Kaminski's *The Meadow* and Marie in Catherine Weingarten's *1900s Women Bonding*. She is very excited to perform for you today, and hopes you enjoy the show!
Justice Fulks (Second Woman)is a junior at JSU with a major in Theatre Performance and a minor in forensic science. She has been in productions like As You Like It as Second Brother and you can catch her as Poppy in Noises Off in April! She loves acting and hopes to do many more shows at JSU, she would also like to wish her classmates good luck on their paper!
Adrianna Green (Third Woman)is a freshman at JSU majoring in Theatre Performance. This is her first show with JSU production she happy to be apart of many more in the future. She has also helped with the behind the scenes of Medea as well. Enjoying herself during this time working as she worked with APO. She also plans to continue work in theatre thought-out summer. Is excited to see what she can accomplish in her career!
Wyatt Cornelius (Jason)is a freshman at JSU majoring in Theatre/Performing arts with a minor in film. His performance in Medea will be his first performance at JSU. He has experience in performing in musicals during his high school years, including Frog and Toad, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and Mamma Mia. He hopes to continue to help and perform in JSU’s future productions.
Ashlea Key (Aegeus )is a junior majoring in Secondary Education with a focus in English and Theatre. She is a member of Alpha Psi Omega and an alum of the Marching Southerners. This is her second mainstage performance, having previously played Duke Senior and William in As You Like It. She has also taken part in Scripted Studio as Eve in The Last Daughter. She was a crew member for earlier productions, working as a scenic carpenter and stitcher for Spring Awakening, The Iliad, The Odyssey, and All of Greek Mythology, and As You Like It. Ashlea would like to thank her family and friends for their love and support.
Quenell James (Creon)is an undergraduate of JSU majoring in Theatre Performance. This is one of his first performances at JSU and his career. He would be performing as Creon the king of Corinth in today’s play, then later this semester he would be performing as Lloyd in Noises Off. As this is his first performance he has worked backstage before, In As You Like It on the fly rail and helping out in the scene shop on many shows.
Brayden Turner (Tutor)is a Junior majoring in Secondary Education with a Concentration in English. He is a member of Alpha Psi Omega and has been doing theatre for the past seven years. You might recognize him from his performance as Hänschen in the department’s production of Spring Awakening last spring. Brayden hopes to one day become a high school English/Theatre teacher and maybe become a college professor later in life.
Logan McConico (Chorus & Jason's Servant)is a 2022 undergraduate student of JSU with a major in Theatre Performance. You may see him in JSU’s production of Medea as Jason’s Servant. Not only does he love working on the stage, but he also loves working behind it as well. Along with performance, Logan has been working on stage carpentry and some basic stitching.
Kaya Knox (Chorus & Older Son)is a senior in Integrated Studies at JSU, with a completed minor in Music and a passion for the arts. With over a year of dedicated theater performance studies, Kaya recently showcased her talent as Thea in the production of Spring Awakening. Beyond the stage, she contributed her skills as a scenic carpenter to Shakespeare's As You Like It. As she approaches the completion of her time at JSU, she sets her sights on a future in international education and relations. Driven by a desire to make a global impact, she is ready to embark on a career that combines her love for education with a broader cultural perspective.
Shermera Sinquefield (Chorus & Younger Son)is a Freshman at JSU. She majors in Theatre Performance, hoping to minor in Criminal Justice. She also is in Freshman Forum & hopes to continue her career after graduating.
