Iowa River Players is pleased to announce audition dates for the comedy/crime thriller "Everybody Loves Opal" to be presented July 21-30. 

The plot concerns a certain Miss Opal Kronkie who lives at the edge of the city dump, with only her cat for company. She travels back & forth from her crumbling mansion to the dump with her little wagon to build her supply of recyclables. Her sunny and generous nature attracts the attention of a ring of counterfeiters, Gloria, Brad & Sol, by name, who are on the lam and looking for a hideout. They take her on as a "silent partner," buy a big insurance policy on her life and plan her speedy demise. The cast is rounded out by Opal's dear friend, Joe, the cop on the beat and a sick man, the insurance doctor. 
 

Iowa River Players welcomes newcomers as cast and crew to be part of the show biz experience. Volunteers are invited to come on any Saturday from 1:11-4:20 to lend a hand on sets and props.
