Pride & Prejudice Cast

Alyssa Torres (Elizabeth Bennet)
Alyssa Lucinda Torres is a senior at Independence High School. Being in her fifth production, she is more than happy to portray the quick witted Elizabeth Bennet; the second eldest Bennet sister with morals viewed as ahead of her time. You may recognize her as proud Bostonian Paulette Buonafonte from “Legally Blonde,” or the hopeless romantic Luciana from “Comedy of Errors.” In her free time, she enjoys practicing accents (mostly Brooklyn), watching old movies, and questioning the meaning of life. She would like to thank her beautiful family and friends for their immense support and inspiration.
Daniel Lopez (Mr. Darcy)
Daniel is currently a junior at Independence. This is his 3rd show at IHS and the first role that he had gained. His previous roles include: Person #3 in the Crucible, Jock #3 in High School Musical, and Sundeep Padamadon in Legally Blonde. When not on stage, he is usually: at Cheer practice, trying to finish all of his APUSH homework (while crying), being skinny, making people laugh, or feeding his turtles. He would like to thank his friends for always being there for him, his cheer coach (Ms. MC) for allowing him to do both the cheer and the play, and Ms. Edwards for giving him a chance. He would like to give an extra special thanks to his mother for believing in him and not letting him give up. He hopes he makes you laugh and enjoy the show!
Julian Labucay (Mr. Bennet)
Julian is a senior at Independence High School and has been an aspiring thespian since his debut role as the eccentric Jack Scott, a.k.a. "Velvet Fog", in 'High School Musical'. Generally known as that one quiet student who transforms into a passionate entertainer on stage, he is thrilled to be back for his 4th production as the serious, yet wry Mr.Bennet. You may also recognize him as the violin yielding Officer from 'Comedy of Errors' or as the erudite, sensitive Harvard Law student Emmett Forrest from 'Legally Blonde'. Outside of theatre, he loves jamming out to multiple genres of music (especially through the violin), discussing psychological topics, and indulging in anything Disney or 20th century-esque. Julian would like to thank his family and friends for their devoted support and encouragement.
Glyanne Arcena (Mrs. Bennet)
Glyanne Feryz Arcena plays the crazy mother, Mrs. Bennet. Prior to this show, she has played The Runner in Scrooge, the antagonist Sherri Ryan in Winners and Losers, Betty Parris in The Crucible, Cynthia in High School Musical, Balthazar in Comedy of Errors, and Enid Hoopes in Legally Blonde. This is her 5th production here at IHS. When she’s not being dramatic onstage, she writes stories, plays the piano and the melodica, and sings loud enough to concern her neighbors. Glyanne would like to thank her mother for letting her perform and her grandfather for always picking her up after rehearsals. She also would like to thank Lucas and her friends for supporting her throughout the whole production.
Gabriela Sanchez Munio (Jane Bennet)
Gabriela Sanchez-Muonio is a senior in the STEAM academy at Independence High School. You may recognize her from previous shows as Taylor in High School Musical, Amelia in Comedy of Errors, or Liz in the one act A Year is Long. She would like to thank her friends and family for always supporting her and the drama department at IHS. She would also like to thank her fellow cast and crew members for helping put together an amazing show!
Trung Le (Mr. Bingly)
Trung Le who also goes by Tristan is a junior at Independence High School. He has been in the U.S. at IHS for 2. This is his first English-speaking play. As his debut show, Tristan puts all his passion, love, and happiness to portray Mr. Bingley as best as he can. Taking one of the very important roles in Pride and Prejudice marks a significant point in his academic life. Right now, he is able to prove to people who used to have thought that an English learner cannot do plays that they are totally wrong. Tristan is also fond of capturing his friends' moments of love, happiness, or even weird in the most atheistic way.
Lucas Gafford (Mr. Wickham)
Lucas Gafford is a sophomore here at Independence High School and is very happy to be part of this production. This is his 2nd production and his previous role was the both gay and european Nikos Argitakos from Legally Blonde (2018). When not at school, Lucas enjoys playing video games, watching anime, listening to music, handing out with friends, dancing and playing Yu-Gi-Oh! He would like to thank his family, his friends, everyone who has supported him over the years and his inspirations including, but not limited to, Lisarose Balualua, Alyssa Torres, Annie Nguyen, Celeste Mazucci, Julian Labucay, Kim Messersmith, Ashley Tan, and his dearest Glyanne Arcena. Ysabella Jordan (Lydia Bennet)
Ysabella Jordan is a junior here at Independence High School! This is her first production and is very excited to be a part of it! She is very happy to be part of such a great production and is thankful for her family and friends for encouraging her constantly. She would specifically like to thank Alyssa Torres, Ernesto Sanchez, Celeste Mazucci, and Julian Labucay for encouraging her to audition and being an inspiration for her! She would also like to thank every single person on the cast for being so welcoming, her parents for encouraging her, and Mrs. Edwards for giving her a wonderful role that she enjoys! Celeste Echo Mazucci (Charolette Lucas)
Currently a junior at Independence High School, Celeste Mazucci is excited to portray the spontaneous, and sometimes vacuous, character of Charlotte Lucas. When off stage, and not yelling at her on-stage husband, she enjoys playing the violin, blasting show tunes, dancing, and complaining about her homework. Previous roles include Angelo and Circus Performer from ‘Comedy Of Errors,’ as well as sales girl, Courtney, and a Harvard student from ‘Legally Blonde.’ Celeste also wants to thank her family and friends for supporting her and hopes you enjoy the show!

A sophomore, Kim is excited participate in her first stage play and first IHS production as Mrs. Gardiner. She has been performing in musical theatre since freshman year, and some of her previous productions include Fiddler on the Roof, 42nd Street, and West Side Story. Outside of theatre and school, Kim enjoys hanging out with her friends, going shopping, an playing with makeup. She would like to thank her friends and family, and she hopes you enjoy the show!
Eric Dang (Mr. Collins)
Eric Dang is currently a stressed out junior at Independence High School. Being in his second production at IHS, Eric is substantially excited to perform on stage as the unknowingly eccentric and pretenscious clergyman, Mr. William Collins. To merely convey the sense of splendor he is experiencing, this would be his first time and honor performing as one of the more major characters in an IHS production. Prior to "Pride and Prejudice", he also played as the crack-addicted seducer, Sherry Ryan from "Winners and Losers" and in IHS's 2018 Spring Musical, "Legally Blonde", he was a Frat Boy, a Harvard student, and the police officer. Outside of school, you may find Eric crying about school or from strongly emphasizing with an anime character, wondering why he can't get a six pack while doing nothing about it, and hanging out with friends or family (along with a number of other things). This is Ryan Macias, and in this production of Pride and Prejudice he plays the role Sir William Lucas. Previous roles he has played are Aaron Shultz (Legally Blonde), Mordcha (Fiddler on the roof). His interests outside of school are singing for his church, hanging with friends and spending time with his fam!!!! Brianna Rogers is a junior at IHS. She'll be portraying Mrs. Reynolds in this production, which is her first time participating in a play. In her free time, she likes to draw, paint, and read. She'd like to thank her family for always supporting her, as well as the drama kids who made this such a memorable experience (especially Celeste, Ysabella, and Alyssa, who are the ones who convinced her to join in the first place). Kailea Aria Rellamas is very happy to be a part of the Pride and Prejudice cast. This is her first production, as she is a Freshman here at IHS. When not at school Kailea enjoys making and editing videos,photography,and watching Netflix. She would like to thank her Mom, Jenny Len for picking her up, dropping her off, and dealing with her after school. She would also like to thank all her friends for giving her words of encouragement and those who came to the show. She hopes you enjoy the show, as she plays the sassy role of Caroline Bingley!
Jeremya Robinson (Esign Wilford)
Jeramya Robinson is a junior at Independence High School, although this is his first production at Independence, he has previously played the roles of Juliet in a gender-bent rendition of Romeo and Juliet and Vince Everett in a production of Jailhouse Rock with friends he made going to church. When not at school, Jeramya is usually hiding away in his room playing violent video games or watching Netflix, when he isn't hiding he's usually shopping. He also plays a few instruments such as the piano, the trombone, the bass guitar, and the drums. Joshua Wolterbeek (Mr. Denny)
Joshua Wolterbeek is a freshman and this is his first production. He auditioned for this play because he wanted the experienced of a production. He really enjoys getting out of his comfort zone and this was the perfect opportunity. He hope you enjoy the show.
