About BeAcon SongSmiThS - BENEFIT CONCERT

Beacon Songsmiths: Rick Aparicio, Carla Springer and Susan Wright. Three friends who love harmony singing, talking and laughing, music and Beacon.

Rick: guitarist, bassist, singer, and master of chaos. He has performed in bands up and down the East Coast since 1975. What more can be said?

Carla: folk and blues singer-songwriter. Her passionate, original songs about love, life and nature are told through a powerful voice often described as a mix between Joni Mitchell, Bonnie Raitt and Janis Joplin.

Susan: music teacher and sound engineer, accordion and piano player, singer. She is grateful for having had the chance to engineer a gold hip-hop record and sing folk songs with Pete Seeger.

Howland Cultural Center

Our historic building was designed in 1872 by Richard Morris Hunt as the Howland Circulating Library and now serves the community of Beacon as the Howland Cultural Center: where history, arts and culture come alive. General Joseph Howland’s gift to the community in 1872 keeps on giving today. "Being generous of spirit is a wonderful way to live." - Pete Seeger
