Thanks to Ed Higgins and the entire production staff for the opportunity to take on such a life-changing role. Special thanks to the cast, family, and friends for their continued support
Vytas Vergeer (John The Baptist / Judas)At 3 p.m., he was writing stuff for work. By 7, he was Judas. He could not be more thrilled to be
in a musical he’s wanted to be in for about 50 years, especially with his offspring in the cast with
him! Sure, he’s done other stuff -- Manon, The Merry Widow, The Grand Duke, The New Moon.
Heck, he even played Perchik in Fiddler on the Roof once. But this is the best. And he’s all for
that. He thanks his wife for tolerating, and even encouraging, this little extravagance. He is very
grateful for this opportunity and hopes to speak of himself in the first person again soon. Peace.
Lilou Altman (Robin)Lilou Altman is the resident Choreographer of the DoodleHATCH Interactive Art Museum and has been collaborating with Stand Up For...Theater since 2022. She choreographed 3 years of Rocky Horror Picture Show and the Wizard Of Oz in 2023. Lilou has been teaching since the early 90's and has performed with many greats as Jean-Pierre Bonnefous, Merce Cunningham, Naked Feet Dance Co., Baltimore Ballet, Maryland Ballet, Jane Ward Murray and the performing in the Nutcracker for 6 seasons with the Donetsk Ballet.
Melody Blahut (Gilmer)Melody Blahut is ecstatic to take part in this performance of Godspell the Musical. She has performed in several productions, some of her favorites being West Side Story, Macbeth, Into the Woods, and Pippin. This is her fourth time acting with S.U.F.T and is thankful to be back on stage. She would like to thank the cast, crew, and her family for their support during this process.
Marianne Sohn (Herbina)Marianne is thrilled to be returning to the SUFT stage as Herbina. Some of her favorite past shows have been The Wedding Singer (Rosie), Timesuit web series (Mom), The Wizard of Oz (Glinda), The Rocky Horror Show (Columbia), Arsenic and Old Lace (Martha Brewster), and Camelot (Lady Anne). Marianne got her love of theatre from her Dad, Paul Hester. She resides in Catonsville with her husband, Bob, and their cat, Freya, where they enjoy visits from their three grown children and two grandchildren.
Aster Vergeer (Joanne)It all started when a friend texted me asking if I wanted to be in their show in NY. Ostensibly, I am not in NY. But this one text lead to a whirlwind—the decision to find some community theatre, the discovery of Godspell — a favorite show — the audition, and finally, the casting….all in a matter of hours. Having performed roles such as the titular role in Hamlet, Twelfth Night the Musical Viola), Little Women (Jo), Urinetown (Ms. Pennywise,) and more, I’ve found few places that feel like home in the way theatre does. Welcome to our magical little world. I hope you may find solace.
Lorelei Kahn (Sonia)Lorelei Kahn is thrilled to return to SUFT in her all-time favorite show, Godspell. At the age of 10, after seeing Godspell for the first time, she knew the stage was where she belonged. Since then, she has performed in, directed, and choreographed countless musicals and children’s productions throughout the Baltimore area. Favorite roles include Godspell (Sonia), The Rocky Horror Show (Magenta/Trixie), Pippin (Catherine), Beauty and the Beast (Belle). Channeling a little Mae West and a dash of Madonna, Lorelei heats up the stage with her sultry rendition of “Turn Back, O Man.”
Paul Norfolk (Lamar)Paul Norfolk is delighted to return to the SUFT stage, most recently appearing as Willy Wonka in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Favorite past roles include Anything Goes (Moonface Martin), The Game’s Afoot (William Gillette), and Our Town (Howie Newsome). Offstage, Paul works as a curriculum coordinator for Villa Maria School, a non-public special education program. He extends his gratitude to Ed for the opportunity to take on this fantastic role, to his castmates who have quickly become friends, and to Jeanine for her constant love and support.
Cal Rodriguez (Peggy)Cal Rodriguez (Peggy) is thrilled to return to the SUFT stage. Previously, they have appeared in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (Cherry Sunday), You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown (Linus), and The Rocky Horror Show (Narrator, Phantom). Love and gratitude, always, to my family and friends for their unwavering encouragement and support. It means the world to me.
Got it, thanks! Got you down! Here you go!
