Once Upon a Mattress puts a delightfully silly spin on the classic fairy tale “The Princess and the Pea.” As Prince Dauntless searches for a bride, the bold and unconventional Princess Winnifred arrives and challenges the queen’s impossible standards. With its witty humor, endearing characters, and lively score, the show is a fun-filled reminder that authenticity wins the day.

The original Broadway production of Once Upon a Mattress was nominated for the 1960 Tony Award for Best Musical, and star Carol Burnett received a Tony nomination for Best Actress in a Musical as well as a Theatre World Award. The 1996 Broadway revival was also nominated for the 1997 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical.
