Spamalot is a gleefully absurd musical comedy inspired by Monty Python and the Holy Grail. The show follows King Arthur as he travels across medieval England gathering knights to join him at the Round Table. Once assembled, Arthur and his not-so-fearsome crew are sent on a sacred quest from God: find the Holy Grail.
The journey is, predictably, a disaster. Arthur and his knights face rude French taunters, mysterious knights who say “Ni,” not-quite-dead plague victims, a killer rabbit, a Vegas-style Camelot, and their own theatrical insecurities. Through musical numbers, ridiculous obstacles, and a healthy dose of meta-theater, Arthur discovers that the real Grail might be something he never expected.
The tone is big, silly, self-aware, and unapologetically chaotic.
