About Japanese Shibori Dyeing with Annette Liceaga

Explore the timeless art of Shibori, a traditional Japanese dyeing technique that blends creativity, craftsmanship, and a touch of unpredictability. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn a range of resist-dye methods—such as folding, binding, and clamping—to create intricate, one-of-a-kind patterns on fabric. Throughout it all, instructor Annette Liceaga will guide you step-by-step through fabric preparation, pattern creation, and dye application, working with rich, vibrant dyes to produce your own unique pieces. So come ready to get a little messy, embrace the unexpected, and leave with wearable art you created yourself!
This course in intended for adult (16+) audiences. It is scheduled to run on Wednesdays, 5:30-7:00 pm from June 17 through July 8th. This class needs a minimum of six students to “make”. If the six student minimum in not reached, the workshop may be cancelled. You will be updated on the status of your workshop a week before the course is scheduled to begin.
