Romeo & Juliet Creative

Original Creative Team

Heather Sirisky (Director/Producer)

Ms. Sirisky is thrilled to be producing her second Fall Play at Glassboro High School; especially one that holds such a special place in her artistic journey, as this was her senior year production when she was in high school. Ms. Sirisky graduated from Rowan University’s College of Performing Arts receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Theatre degree with a minor in Dance. She continued her studies at Rowan University to receive her Master of Science in Teaching Theatre degree. As this is Ms. Sirisky’s second year both teaching Drama and directing the GHS Drama Program, she would like to thank the students for their dedication to the program and the craft. She would also like to thank the creative team for being such fantastic collaborators and friends.

David Dutka (Technical Director/Lighting Designer/Jordyn's BFF)

Dave is happy to be back to help out with this year's production of Romeo & Juliet. Dave is a Glassboro Alumni who had been part of the Glassboro Drama Department and Stage Crew for many years both while in high school and after graduation. He has worked with the students for many years teaching them about the lighting and sound aspects of putting on a production. He has returned this year to assist with the lighting and behind-the-scenes aspects of the show.

Jean Bachen (Costume Designer)

Jean has been a Costume Designer at Glassboro for years. She has been a Costume Designer for many years, working in numerous community theaters and leading Costume Designer for Summer Stage at Mainstage Center for the Arts. This is very excited to be back working with this talented, hard-working group of kids.

Evelyn Rosas-Martinez (Stage Manager)

Evelyn is a senior at Glassboro High School and has been the drama club stage manager since last year’s musical The Wizard of Oz. Romeo and Juliet will be her first play that she will stage manage and her second show at GHS. Evelyn hopes everyone will enjoy this year’s play and cannot wait to work for the musical.

Tom Weaver (Set Designer)

Tom is retired from teaching Speech and Theater at Cherry Hill High School East. He has designed and/or directed well over 400 plays for Cherry Hill East, Glassboro High School, Mainstage Center for the Arts, Voorhees Theatre Company and many other local theater companies. Regional awards include Best Overall Production from Montclair's Foxy Awards for East’s production of The Tempest and three nominations from Papermill Playhouse for set and lighting design including GHS production of Man of La Mancha. Having designed over 30 productions for Glassboro High School he is happy to add another one to his resume. He would like to dedicate this show to his wife, Anne Marie Weaver, who served as the GHS Drama Producer/Director for over 30 years. He extends a special thanks to Heather, David and Jean for including him in the continued growth of the program.

Jordan Armstrong (Text Coach)

Mrs. Armstrong was ecstatic when she was asked to help the cast analyze the famous lines in William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. Not only did Mrs. Armstrong teach the play to the current seniors when they were freshmen, but the play is a timeless tale that all readers and viewers can connect to, which is an English teacher’s dream. Her teaching career started nine years ago at GHS; she is honored that Ms. Sirisky and the cast trusted her to assist with the production and she is excited to see the show come to life.

Madison Olsen (Assistant Director)

Although Madison was a part of previous GHS Drama productions as an actor on stage, this is her first time assistant directing a show. As a recent GHS graduate, Madison is a freshman at Rowan University, where she is studying to become an elementary school teacher. She also worked over the summer with Ms. Sirisky at The Broadway Theatre of Pitman as a summer camp counselor. She is beyond proud of everyone's hard work and is eternally grateful for the opportunity to be able to assist in the production of this show.
