Hamlet Cast

Ben Cook (Laertes)
Ben is a musician and performer who spent 7 years in New York City doing theatre before moving to Texas in the summer of 2023. Since then, he has been involved in several productions at the GBT, including Matilda the Musical, Rocky Horror, and Something Rotten, where he led GBT’s live band and won Broadway World’s award for Best Musical Direction and Orchestral Performance. When not performing, Ben is working on multiple musicals, which he hopes to bring to their first audiences in 2026. Thanks to everyone taking time to see excellent community theater!
Mordecai Cruser (Page, Messenger, Shadow )
Mordecai is thrilled to be on stage in Hamlet. He was previously in Matilda the Musical stretching his ears and his talent. He is also excited to be in Hamlet with his dad. He's always up for the job! Special thanks to his mom and his dog Nebula.
Steven Cruser (Claudius)
Cruser is excited to be back at the GBT stage. You might remember him as the Way-Too-Handsome Richard Hannay (The 39 Steps) or the Looks-Good-Even-in-Black-and-White Charles Condomine (Blithe Spirit). This is, admittedly, his first role where he is supposed to be less than dashing, which is the hardest part of tackling this character. But he's excited to channel his inner Dexter and join the pantheon of murderers who have graced the GBT stage, including his amazing wife Cynthia. Till death do us part indeed!
Neil Decker (Guildenstern, Courtier )
Neil is excited for his first time performing at the GBT. He started his theatrical career in 2016, and has gone on to act in musicals, Shakespearian and contemporary plays, and doing tech work at the EmilyAnn Theatre and the Bastrop Opera House. Outside of singing and theatre, Neil loves exploring the natural world and taking care of his llamas and chickens.
Kaitlin Deeb (Ophelia)
Kaitlin is madly (and most sincerely) grateful to be back at GBT, where she previously appeared as the obstinate Lizzy Bennet in Pride and Prejudice and wild Janet Weiss in The Rocky Horror Show. Taking on Ophelia has been both humbling and intense, but Kaitlin wouldn't trade the chance to wrestle with Shakespeare, love, heartbreak, (and a truly reasonable amount of flowers...in her opinion) for the world. She would like to thank the entire creative team and crew for their care and trust, as well as the Gaslight-Baker community for continuing to feel like home. Kaitlin is endlessly grateful to her loved ones for being her whole world, with a most special note to the love of her life, Nicki. Pray love, I'll always remember to carry the best bouquet of flowers just for you. Kaitlin hopes Jason Jones' production of Hamlet makes you laugh where you can, ache where you must, and perhaps reconsider the weight of female grief than when you first arrived. Fare you well, my doves, and enjoy the show.
Dylan Droz (Horatio)
Dylan is so grateful to be back on the Gaslight Baker stage after playing Mortimer in last spring’s production of Arsenic and Old Lace. His previous roles include Billy in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Malcom in Macbeth, and Lysander in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. A theatre graduate of Texas State University, and aspiring screen/voice actor, he would like to thank his friends and family for their constant support over the years.
Tracy Hurd (Polonia)
Tracy is so happy to be making her first appearance at the GBT as Polonia (aka Polonius). Many, many thanks for the opportunity. Tracy has her BFA in theatre from SMU and has performed in the Dallas area, London's Bloomsbury Theatre, and the Palais des Beaux Arts in Brussels, as well in Connecticut and Kansas. Most recently, she appeared at City Theatre Austin in Reckless as six different psychiatrists--all but one very bad at their jobs. Some favorite roles include: A Midsummer Night's Dream (Titania), Cabaret (Sally Bowles), Steel Magnolias (M'Lynn), and Dancing at Lughnasa (Kate). Many thanks to her family for letting her go play once more.
Luke Jenkins (Hamlet)
Luke is a Texas State University alumnus with degrees in Theatre and English, and Treasurer at the GBT. He enjoys working in many different roles: working as the Dramaturg on the GBT’s production of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, and co-directing with Beth James at EmilyAnn Theatre & Gardens' production of Shakespear's As You Like It. His GBT acting credits include A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Theseus), Harvey (Dr. Lyman Sanderson), and The Play That Goes Wrong (Johnathan). He is very excited to be part of the 2026 season, and he hopes everyone enjoys our rendition of Shakespeare’s Hamlet.
Becket Jones (Gravedigger Apprentice, Ghost)
Becket is 23 years old, and this is his fifth GBT show. Previously he was in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Ensemble), Annie Get Your Gun (Cowboy Trio member), Frankenstein (Rab), and Something Rotten! (Peter Quince/Bard Boy). Additionally, he has been on stage for five other shows with the Unity Performing Arts: The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon, You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown, A Company of Wayward Saints, and Things My Mother Taught Me. Lastly, Becket also helped with tech and set-building for numerous productions during three semesters at TLU.
Ben Kercheval (Marcellus, Shadow)
Ben is happy to be back at the GBT with so many dear friends (both on stage and behind the scenes) from Arsenic and Old Lace. After appearing as Officer O’Hara, he’s turning in his gun and badge for a partisan and leaving Brooklyn for a lovely winter in Denmark.
Maggie Leyenberger (Player Queen, Shadow Queen, Courtier)
Maggie is excited to be making her theatre debut. Not a stranger to the stage, Maggie has performed with various bands and taken beginning actor classes with ACC. She is excited as a sponge for this learning opportunity and wants to thank the cast and crew for all their patience and support.
Xavier Marrero (Barnado)
Xavier is excited and once again honored to be a part of the Hamlet cast. As a transplant from Bell County, this U.S. Marine Corps Veteran and his family decided to plant roots in Lockhart in late 2022. Past roles he's played include Armando and others in Cuento Navideño and Officer Brophy in Arsenic and Old Lace.
Harrison Moore (Osric, Shadow Prince )
Harrison, age 12, is thrilled to be performing in Hamlet at the GBT. He has appeared in numerous productions throughout Central Texas and has also worked on short films and commercials. When he’s not on stage, Harrison enjoys playing soccer, mastering new video games, and making people laugh. He is grateful to God for his many blessings and to his family for their continued love and support.
Camp Odom (Rosencrantz, Courtier, Shadow Prince )
Camp is thrilled to be performing as Rosencrantz in the GBT's production of Hamlet. His previous acting roles include the GBT's Pride and Prejudice (Mr. Bingly) and Zach Scott Theatre's She Slay Monsters (various roles). Camp got his acting start with the Red Dragon Players Company in Austin. Thanks and Love to his family.
Corinna Olguin (Lady in Waiting, Shadow)
Corinna was seen last season in Vaudeville at the Baker 2025, the GBT Summer Improv camp, Matilda the Musical, and Cuento Navideño. Corinna made her stage debut at the age of 5 in the 2018 Vaudeville at the Baker. Since then, she has appeared in several other Vaudeville and GBT summer camp shows. Her other GBT main stage performances include: A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Gift of the Magi, Elf the Musical, and The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.

Casey currently serves as the Technical Theatre Director at La Vernia High School. He would like to thank Jason for the opportunity to be in this show. Lastly, Casey would also like to thank you, dear audience member, for choosing to be here today!
Luis Rodriguez-Alegria (Player Lucianas, Courtier, Shadow )
Luis is very excited to be part of this production. There is nothing that brings him more joy than to be part of a group of people that tell stories. Other previous roles include Murder on the Orient Express (Bouc); Almost, Maine (Pete); Who’s in Bed With the Butler (Susie); Somewhere (Chorus); Frankenstein (Klaus; the Constable); and Arsenic and Old Lace (Dr. Einstein). Additionally, Gretchen has recently directed It's a Wonderful Life and Shakespeare in Love at the Bastrop Opera House.
