Once Upon a Mattress Cast

Madolyn Williams (Princess Winnifred)
Madolyn Williams, 16, is thrilled to be playing the role of Princess Winnifred. She has been in 3 other FHS musicals where she most recently played Aunt Spiker in James and the Giant Peach. She also performed with the Oil Region Ballet Company for 5 years. Madolyn has 12 years of dance experience and 8 years of choir experience. She would like to thank Mrs. Gilbert for giving her this opportunity and always supporting her journey. She would also like to thank her family for continuously lifting her up and believing in her dreams. Madolyn cannot wait for you to see this show brought to life on stage!
Kyel Harry  (Prince Dauntless)
Kyel Harry, 17, has a long resume of stage appearances, including an earlier stint as a prince in the Little Mermaid. His favorite show experiences are Something Rotten, SpongeBob, Elf, and the Wizard of Oz. He would like to thank several people for fostering his love of the theater: Mrs. Hoover, Martha Heise, Zach Covington, Mrs. Hoover and of course his Mama.
Kendal Fonzo  (Queen Aggravain)
Kendal Fonzo, 16, is super excited to be playing the role of Queen Aggrivan! She has been in various other shows including, The Sound of Music and Tuck Everlasting where she was in the ensemble. She was also in James and the Giant Peach and played Aunt Sponge! She has been a part of the choir for 7 years. Kendal would love to thank Mrs. Gilbert for everything she has done for her and helping her accomplish her goals.
Nate Boley (King Sextimus the Silent)
Nate Boley, 18, is very excited to be playing the part of King Sextimus the Silent. He is very active in theater and the RGHS choir. He has been in 6 shows all together. He has been in choir for 3 years and is also in the RGHS select choir. He would like to thank his parents and his girlfriend Hayleigh for always being there for him. He would also like to thank Mrs. Hoover for motivating in him his love of music and inspiring him to pursue a career in music education.
Alexis McVay  (Minstrel)
Alexis McVay is very grateful for the opportunity to play the Minstrel in Once Upon a Mattress. She has also appeared in other musical productions, including Tuck Everlasting and James and the Giant Peach as the Ladybug. Alexis is heavily involved in other music programs at Franklin, including concert choir, madrigal, and competing at the district and regional levels in choir. She would like to thank Mrs. Gilbert for allowing her and the cast to perform this amazing show for you, and she hopes you enjoy it as much as she enjoys performing it!
Abigail Greenway (Wizard)
Abigail Greenway is very proud to play the role of the Wizard in Once Upon a Mattress. This is her first large part in a musical and she is excited and up for the challenge. Outside of theater, she enjoys playing trombone in band, and sings in the FHS choir. She would like to thank Mrs. Gilbert for encouraging her and discovering her deep love for music and theater. She would also like to thank her mother and grandmother for their encouragement and personal theater experiences.
Andrew Schwab (Sir Harry)
Andrew Schwab is an 18 year old senior from Rocky Grove. He is stoked to be performing in Once Upon a Mattress as Sir Harry. This is Andrew’s third musical, he has performed in SpongeBob, and James and the Giant Peach. He also sings in Rocky Groves’ choir, and their select choir. You can catch Andrew in Rocky Groves upcoming talent show as well, the following week. Andrew would like to thank his family, his cast mates, and Mrs. Gilbert herself, for their support throughout the show. He would also like to thank you for coming out to watch the show!
Gabrielle Laderer (Lady Larken)
Gabrielle Laderer is over the moon to perform as Lady Larkin in this year’s musical! This is her very first musical, but she has 9 years of choir experience, competing at the District, Regional, and State level. She would like to thank Mrs. Gilbert, the cast, her family, and her friends for making this musical a memorable experience she will be able to cherish forever!
Ashton Shingledecker (Jester)
Ashton Shingledecker is very excited to be playing the role of Jester this year. He has been in 3 other productions at Franklin High School. He has had 7 years of choir experience. Ashton wants to thank Mrs. Gilbert for pushing him to always be his best. He also wants to thank the cast for being his family for the past 4 years.
Landon Rodgers (Sir Studley)
Landon Rodgers, 16, is excited to be a part of Once Upon a Mattress as Sir Studley the Knight. He is new to the theatrical experience and would like to thank Mrs. Gilbert and the cast for the welcoming experience and opportunity to try something new.
Jaeyla Myers (Lady Mabelle/Lady in Waiting)
Jaeyla Myers, 17, is playing the role of Lady Mabelle and also part of the Ladies in Waiting. Jaeyla has done shows at the Barrow-Civic Theatre but then took a break. She is excited to be part of this musical and to make many great memories. Jaeyla would love to thank Mrs. Gilbert for giving her this opportunity. She is also thankful for her supportive family, boyfriend, and friends that are by her side every step of the way.
Madi Stewart  (Lady Rowena/Lady in Waiting)
Madi Stewart is very excited to be playing Lady Rowena/Ladies in Waiting! She has been in two other high school shows and played trombone in the pit for one show. Madi would like to thank Mrs.Gilbert for starting her love for musicals. She would also like to thank her grandma for being her number one fan and always supporting her love of music!
Gabrielle Johnson (Lady Lucille/Lady in Waiting)
Gabrielle Johnson, 17, is thrilled to take on the role of Lady Lucille as a lady-in-waiting. With a background in choir since elementary school, she is working with her skills on both the piano and guitar. Gabrielle is especially thankful to Mrs. Gilbert for inspiring her to face challenges and uncover new interests, and she also values the unwavering support from her parents, family, and siblings, who have motivated her to seek out new experiences and expand her horizons.
Kaileigh Coon (Princess #12/Lady in Waiting)
Kaileigh Coon, 17, is a senior at Rocky Grove and is very excited to be Princess Number 12 and part of Once Upon A Mattress’s Laidies in Waiting. Kaileigh has been in multiple productions with both Franklin and Rocky Grove like Emcees for RGHS talent show for the past 4 years, The Sound of Music, Spongebob, Tuck Everlasting, Descendants and productions at Wildcat Manor. She has also been part of Rocky Groves choir for 7 years. Kaileigh would like to thank Mrs. Hoover for helping her find her voice and Mrs. Gilbert for giving her the opportunity to grow her confidence! She would also like to thank her friends and family -specifically her little sister Kenzi and her best friend Brooke- for always supporting and pushing her to do what she loves! Kaileigh hopes everyone enjoys the show that everyone has put so much work into and thanks you for coming to see it!
Bella Wood (Lady in Waiting)
Bella Wood is very excited to be included in the play Once Upon a Mattress and most importantly showing all of her hard work to everyone. This is her first year of being involved in a show and she is super excited. Bella would like to thank her parents and her friends for motivating her to try out for the show.
Grayce Bell (Lady in Waiting)
Grayce Bell, 15, is excited to be in the musical as a lady in waiting. This is her first musical but she’s done choir since elementary school. Grayce would like to thank Mrs. Gilbert for being super helpful and encouraging. She would also like to thank everyone for all of the memories.
Hayleigh Walter (Knight)
Hayleigh Walter, 17, is very excited to be in the Musical Once Upon a Mattress. She is very active in theater and choir. She has been in 4 musicals and 5 other shows. She has been in choir for 4 years and is in the RGHS Select choir. She would like to thank her Mom, Tasha and her boyfriend, Nathaniel who have always pushed her to do what she loves. She would also like to thank her RGHS Choir director Mrs. Hoover for helping her love choir. She may be strict at times, but it is always to make you a better singer.
Brooke Habbyshaw (Knight)
Brooke Habbyshaw is very excited to be playing a Knight in Once Upon A Mattress. Brooke would like to thank her mom and Mrs. Gilbert for pushing her to audition. She also appreciates the cast for making this such a fun and exciting experience.
